Jorge Martin has ended speculation regarding his MotoGP future by confirming he is staying with Aprilia Racing next year - despite having interest from other teams.
The Spaniard had previously put out a statement on social media to say he would leave at the end of the season after activating a clause in his contract allowing him to do so.
Despite being hampered by injuries at the start of his 2025 season, Martin’s team claimed a performance-related exit clause would be activated if Aprilia failed to change the review period beyond round six at Le Mans.
The team denied this, which led to Martin writing on his social platforms: "I have decided to exercise my right to release myself for the 2026 season."
However, speaking at a press conference at Brno ahead of his second appearance of the campaign, Martin confirmed he had reversed his decision and will remain with the team to honour his two-year agreement.
The 27-year-old arrived at Aprilia after winning the 2024 MotoGP title with Pramac Ducati but the "big fight" led him to question whether he wanted to stay.
Martin is confident the tension has now subsided and he is ready for the future with Aprilia.
"I'm happy to be back. And happy to say that I will continue at Aprilia for 2026," he said.
However, Martin also spoke of how close he came to leaving.
He said: "I fought for what I thought was best for me, trying to move on to another project.
"I could continue with this fight, but in life we have to take decisions, and I've decided to stay in Aprilia for one more season."

During his press conference, Martin confirmed that Honda had shown interest in his services, but that it was "not only Honda" who came forward.
"Relationships are like a rollercoaster - if you like the other person, you will work hard to stay together.

"For sure, [Aprilia and I] had a big fight, but now is the time to build together and win. I don't regret anything, I did what I thought was best for me."
Martin completed a test ride at Misano last week, to ensure he is ready to return to racing action in the Czech Republic.
He has been out since crashing at the Grand Prix Qatar earlier this season.
