Dvalishvili beat Sean O'Malley for the belt in September 2024 and has since defended it against Umar Nurmagomedov, O'Malley and Cory Sandhagen in 2025.

Since falling to defeat against Dvalishvili in March 2023, Yan has won three fights in a row, and now he will be hoping to avenge the loss.

Further down the card, Alexandre Pantoja will defend the UFC flyweight championship against Joshua Van, and Brandon Moreno will take on Tatsuro Taira.
