Hello and welcome to Eurosport's live commentary from the World Cup Group D Qualifier between Serbia and the Republic of Ireland. This is Nick Royle (@nickaroyle) taking you through all the action from the Crvena Zvezda Stadium in Belgrade.

Tadic's free-kick is headed up in the air by O'Shea, and Randolph flaps at the loose ball under pressure from Ivanovic before Coleman hacks away off the line.

First yellow card of the night, and it is a harsh one for Stephen Ward, who seems to win the ball off Rukavina.

Ward plays the ball down the left channel but it is always running away from Long, and the Southampton striker ends up fouling Ivanovic.

Kostic takes the ball down the left channel and shoots from distance, but Randolph is always behind the ball despite a slight deflection off, I think, Hendrick.

O'Neill is frustrated by another Serbia foul, this time by Gudelj on Whelan.

Rajkovic tarries on the ball and Long is almost in to nick the ball off the Serbia goalkeeper.

Ward reads a Tadic dummy down the left then the frustrated Southampton player pulls back the Ireland left-back and ref Kassai blows for a foul.

Serbia have a free-kick on their own penalty area as Long jumps into Nastasic following a free-kick up the field.

Tadic sets up Rukavina down the right but McClean tracks back and doesn't even concede the corner as the last touch comes off the Serbia defender.

Brady is an inside left position, with Hendrick an inside right position, with McClean and Walters the wingers. Serbia are playing a 4-3-3 formation.

Tadic tries to make space but Brady does well to track back and win the ball, then Whelan wins a free-kick following a poor Ivanovic challenge.

Good wing play from Mladenovic and then Kostic, who are ganging up on Coleman, but Tadic is unable to get a shot on target.

Another fine cross from Brady is flicked on by Walters ahead of Nastasic, but Long is caught offside.

Very downbeat atmosphere in the stadium, apart from that noise from those in green.

That may have deflected off Branislav Ivanovic, but if not, that is Hendrick's first goal in his 27th appearance.

McClean tumbles under a challenge by Filip Mladenovic down the left and Ireland have a chance to float a cross in from the edge of the area.

Still very wet in Belgrade, and the stadium is empty because of a fan protest. Serbia are in red shorts and shirts, Ireland in white shorts and socks and green shorts

O'Neill admits that there is little room for error with just one automatic qualification spot up for grabs. "Three of our first four games are away from home. We need to stay in the competition before we actually even get into it, and these games are tough,” the Derryman said. "I think this will be so tight. Teams will take points from each other. We could end up with the lowest number of points. But if you end up on top, where you want to be, then does that matter?"
