Netherlands are into their first ever Women's World Cup semi final! This makes it 11 competitive games without defeat for them. What a performance it was from the Dutch in the second half. They really showed their quality and scored the two goals to carry them through. Spitse's freekicks were key to the victory.
FULL TIME: Italy 0-2 Netherlands
The Oranje party was started in Valenciennes. Netherlands are heading into the Women's World Cup for the first time in their history and on this basis they look like contenders.
This looked like being a tough tie for the Dutch. It was for the first half, but their showing in the second period will back up the view that many hold that they will make the WWC final.
Italy have already won a game in stoppage time at this Women's World Cup, but now they need two goals just to force this game to extra time. Surely that is beyond them at this stage?
There will be five minutes of stoppage time played at the end of the match.
This has been just one step too far for this Italian team. They exceeded pre-tournament expectations by making it this far, but they have been shown up by Netherlands in this quarter final.
There's another change for the Dutch and Roord is brought off the bench.

This has been a real display of strength from Netherlands in the second half. They have stepped things up and shown that they are a level above Italy in terms of quality.
There are some tears on the Italian bench now. They believe that they have blown their chance to make the final four. They just haven't been able to cope with Netherlands in the second half.
PICTURE: The Dutch are on the brink of their first ever WWC semi final.
That could have been three! Miedema was through on goal, she had time to pick her spot but went for power instead. Giulani pulls off the save to push the ball over her crossbar, though.
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Italy 0 Netherlands 2 (80 mins - Stefanie van der Gragt). Is that the goal that will confirm Netherlands' place in the semi finals of the Women's World Cup? It was another excellent freekick delivery from Spitse and van der Gragt was on hand to direct an exceptional header into the back of the net.

Italy are getting frustrated now. Sabatino is shown a yellow card for hacking down Van de Donk. This is a crossing opportunity for Netherlands.
