Aston Villa have completed the deadline-day signing of Jadon Sancho from Manchester United. Sancho spent last season on loan with Chelsea after falling out of favour at Old Trafford. Villa have made a poor start to the Premier League season, losing two of three matches and failing to score a goal. They were beaten 3-0 at home by Crystal Palace on Sunday.

The England winger, 25, joins up with Unai Emery at Villa Park, with the Midlands club guaranteed to pay 80% of Sancho's wages, per the BBC.
Sancho had turned down a move to Serie A side Roma earlier in the summer transfer window, and instead will stay in the Premier League.
The forward has spent the past 18 months on loan at Borussia Dortmund and Chelsea but neither club made the deal permanent.
That is despite Sancho scoring one of Chelsea's goals as they beat Real Betis to win the UEFA Conference League final in May.
It was never really a happy union for Sancho and United, since the player was signed from Borussia Dortmund for ÂŁ73 million in 2021.
In fact, he has not played for The Red Devils at all since the Community Shield against Manchester City in August 2024.
Sancho was part of United's infamous 'bomb squad', alongside Marcus Rashford, Antony, Tyrell Malacia and Alejandro Garnacho.
In a statement released on Monday night, United said: "We wish Jadon the best of luck for his time with the Midlanders."
Villa, who have been a big success story in recent seasons, need to step up a gear after the international break following a difficult start to their Premier League campaign.
Emery's team opened with a 0-0 draw against Newcastle United, but were then beaten 1-0 by Brentford and lost 3-0 to Crystal Palace at Villa Park on Sunday.
Villa's statement, also released as the transfer window was shutting on Monday, said the club were "delighted" to seal the loan deal.
"Aston Villa is delighted to announce the signing of Jadon Sancho from Manchester United," the statement read.
"The England international joins Villa on a season-long loan.
"Sancho has been playing at the highest level of the club game since he was a teenager, particularly impressing for Borussia Dortmund during his time in the Bundesliga."
After the international break, Sancho could be in line to make his Villa debut against Everton on September 13.
