Alvarez on move again
Julian Alvarez is becoming frustrated at Atletico Madrid, according to Spanish website SPORT, with Barcelona reportedly waiting in the wings.
Madrid were beaten 4-0 by Arsenal in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night, and they are currently fourth in La Liga, eight points behind leaders Real Madrid.
Alvarez joined Atletico from Manchester City in the summer of 2024 after a successful stint in the Premier League.
Now, Barca are apparently keen on adding the Argentina international to their impressive list of attacking options.
"Julian is starting to get frustrated at Atlético and has already shown it publicly at the start of the season, despite not wanting to talk about his future, something that those close to him have done," read the article.
"The forward is beginning to feel increasingly clear that if the Atletico project doesn't pan out and he can't compete for silverware, the best thing to do will be to find another team in Europe.
"And Barca is closely monitoring this decision, which could be decisive in their chances of signing him.

"The Argentine international opted for Atletico, convinced by Diego Simeone and the firm commitment of the red-and-white club, which paid almost 80 million euros for him."
Tottenham back in for Toney
Reports in the Spanish media have suggested that Tottenham could try to sign England striker Ivan Toney when the transfer window reopens.
Fichajes are saying that Spurs are prepared to make a bid in the region of €60 million in an attempt to bring the former Brentford star back to the Premier League.
Toney played a starring role in helping establish The Bees in the English top flight during his time in West London. Â

Now he could be set for a sensational return to England, having joined Saudi Arabian side Al Ahli in August 2024.
"Ivan Toney continues to be in top form with Saudi Arabia's Al Ahli, but his return to the Premier League radar has gained momentum in recent weeks," read the article.
"The strongest lead points to Tottenham, who are reportedly willing to make an offer close to 60 million euros to sign the 29-year-old English striker.
"Tottenham have lost key players in attack and are looking to Ivan Toney as a reliable alternative to bolster their forward line."
Alaba available on a free
David Alaba could be a free agent at the end of the season, with Florian Plettenberg saying that Real Madrid are unlikely to extend his contract.
Alaba has established himself as one of the finest defenders in Europe across spells with Los Blancos and Bayern Munich.
The Austrian icon is apparently not considering retirement.
"David #Alaba is fighting for a new contract," he posted on X, formerly Twitter.
"He remains a leader within the team and is still very popular.
"However and as revealed on Monday, it currently seems very unlikely that Real Madrid will extend his contract beyond 2026.
"He would be a free agent. The 33 y/o defender is not thinking about retiring yet."
United set to go after Kone
Graeme Bailey believes Manchester United have set their sights on France international Manu Kone.
The 24-year-old has made nine appearances across all competitions for Roma so far this season.
United have struggled to strike the balance in their midfield since Ruben Amorim’s arrival at the club.
Bailey says they have an eye on Kone ahead of the January transfer window.
"Manchester United doing work on their 2026 options," he posted on X, formerly Twitter.
"Manu Kone is a player they have known for a number of years and he is now back on their radar after impressing at Roma."
