Harry Kane will enter the final year of his Bayern Munich contract at the end of the season and clubs in England and Saudi Arabia have been credited with interest in making a summer move. The German club's sporting director Max Eberl insists "intensive talks" have begun about an extension - if not "negotiations" - as they look to tie down one of Europe's most in-form strikers.

England captain Harry Kane is in "intensive talks" about his Bayern Munich future, according to the German club’s sporting director.
The striker, who joined the Bavarian giants in the summer of 2023 for around £100 million, is currently on a deal that expires at the end of the 2026/27 season.
He has been prolific in Germany, scoring 123 goals in 129 games for Bayern, including a 24-goal Bundesliga haul this term that makes him Europe’s leading league marksman.
Speaking at a press conference ahead of Bayern’s DFB-Pokal quarter-final against RB Leipzig on Wednesday, Bayern director Max Eberl addressed the situation.
"We are talking, that doesn't mean negotiations have started," Eberl said.
"We are in intensive talks with Harry, then the next steps will follow."

Kane has been linked with a lucrative move to Saudi Arabia or a return to the Premier League in recent months, with Chelsea, Manchester United or former employers Tottenham Hotspur among his supposed suitors.
"I can't comment on the rumours circulating that someone is preparing anything," Eberl added.
"All I can say is that we are in close contact with Harry regarding him and our success."
Kane’s career-long wait to win a major honour ended in his second season with Bayern, when he won the Bundesliga title.

The 32-year-old won the Bundesliga top scorer award in his first two seasons in Germany and currently leads the way this term too.
He was named Bundesliga player of the season for 2024/25 after bagging 26 goals to fire Vincent Kompany’s side to a dominant title win, finishing 13 points clear of nearest rivals Bayer Leverkusen.
However, Bayern’s UEFA Champions League bid came unstuck at the quarter-final stage to Internazionale, a year after they were knocked out by Real Madrid in the semi-finals despite Kane sharing the golden boot with Paris Saint-Germain’s Kylian Mbappe.
Kane will be hoping it’s third time lucky in Europe this season after Bayern made a strong start, finishing second in the league phase with seven wins out of eight to book an automatic last 16 spot.

Bayern recently suffered their first league defeat of the season at home to Augsburg, but sit six points clear of Borussia Dortmund as they bid for glory on all domestic fronts, having won the Supercup in August and with a DFK-Pokal quarter-final coming up.
Kane has been a key part of Bayern’s recent success and has been in sparkling form this season, with 24 goals in 21 Bundesliga games and eight in the Champions League contributing to an overall tally of 38 goals in 33 appearances in all competitions.
England fans will be hoping he carries that form to the end of the season, when he will go on to lead The Three Lions to the FIFA World Cup in America.
Thomas Tuchel’s side were drawn in Group L alongside Croatia, Ghana and Panama for the tournament, which starts in June.
