Al Nassr and Al Ettifaq are credited with interest in Manchester United defender Harry Maguire, while Al Hilal might make a huge offer to Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane. Elsewhere, Erik ten Hag is linked with a return to Dutch giants Ajax, and Ruben Amorim’s job is currently safe at Old Trafford despite a recent run of poor results so far this season.

Saudi sides target Maguire
Saudi Pro Leagues Al Nassr and Al Ettifaq could make a move for Manchester United defender Harry Maguire.
The 32-year-old is out of contract in the summer, meaning he could command huge wages on a free transfer.
The Sun explains: "Manchester United and England defender Harry Maguire could be in line for a shock move to the Saudi Pro League. The veteran centre-back, who cost United ÂŁ80 million when they snapped him up from Leicester in 2019 is out of contract in June.
"And Maguire has become a target of Saudi sides Al Nassr and Al Ettifaq. He is free to open talks with clubs when January 1 hits and would be able to command huge wages if he decided to head to the Middle East and join the Pro-League.
"Maguire's contract had been up last summer, but United elected to trigger a 12-month extension in his deal. Now, The Red Devils aren't expected to offer fresh terms as they look to the future.
"Maguire will be 33 in March, and could be tempted to cash in on what would be the last lucrative move of his career, particularly with his England career winding down."
Kane could make Al Hilal switch
The Daily Mail relays claims in Germany that Harry Kane could make a move to the Saudi Pro League.
The paper suggests that Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal could return for the player after being interested back in 2023.
The outlet reports: "One of football's moneybag clubs is reportedly willing to pay Harry Kane a mega sum to abandon Bayern Munich.
"Kane has been in stellar form this season, scoring 17 goals in nine games to put Bayern top of the Bundesliga and the Champions League league phase.Â
"There has been some speculation over his future due to his contract expiring in 2027 and last month we shared reports of Kane having a ÂŁ56.7 million release clause, so long as he announces his intention to go in the winter. Â
"And all this has piqued the interest of Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal, who are willing to offer him an 'unbelievable' sum, according to Bild Sport.Â
"The German paper claims Al-Hilal wanted to pay him a whopping ÂŁ261m for a three-year deal back in 2023 when he was departing Tottenham. Such a gargantuan sum could still be on the table."
Ten Hag linked with Ajax return
Reports in the Netherlands suggest that former Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag could return to Ajax.
Ten Hag left his last club, Bayer Leverkusen, in September after a disastrous spell in Germany.
The Sun writes: "Erik ten Hag has been linked with a massive new job after his shock sacking from Bayer Leverkusen.
"Ten Hag, 55, barely lasted four months at Leverkusen, who dismissed him on September 1 after just three matches in charge.
"However, the Dutchman could be set for a quick return to the dugout.
"According to De Telegraaf, Ten Hag could make an emotional return to Ajax in January.
"The Dutch giants are under increasing pressure after a poor start under current boss John Heitinga, with fans calling for change."
United plan to keep Amorim on board
Manchester United are not looking to sack manager Ruben Amorim, despite the club’s poor start to the season.
Further to that, The Express believes that financial constraints will not play a part in any decision over the Portuguese’s Old Trafford future.
The paper states: "Despite a rocky start to the season, Manchester United are standing by manager Ruben Amorim with the 40-year-old showing no signs of stepping down.
"Financial considerations related to sacking Amorim are reportedly not influencing any decisions regarding his future at the club.
"Should a switch occur, Gareth Southgate is unlikely to feature in any potential recruitment process. The 55-year-old has remained without employment since stepping down from his England role in July 2024.
"It's understood that United still have faith in the Portuguese manager, who is committed to turning the club's fortunes around. Both parties recognise the need for improved results, and it's noted that the squad also supports the head coach."
