Alexander Isak has thanked Newcastle United supporters for "three unforgettable" years after signing for Liverpool in a British-record deal.
A saga that lasted all summer finally came to an end on a dramatic transfer deadline day, as Isak made the move to Merseyside for £125 million.
The striker was embroiled in a war of words with his club in August, releasing a statement alleging that promises were "broken", while Newcastle responded with their own robust statement.
But having sealed his desired switch, Isak posted on Instagram to give thanks to the fans, staff and city of Newcastle.
"I want to express my gratitude to my team-mates, the staff, and above all, the city of Newcastle and all the amazing supporters for the three unforgettable years we shared together," read Isak's social media post.
"Together, we have written history and brought the club to the place where it truly belongs. It has been an honour to be part of the journey from reaching the Champions League to winning the first trophy in over 70 years.
"Forever grateful. Thank you, Newcastle."
Alongside the caption was a montage of Isak's best moments in a Newcastle shirt, from his signing in August 2022 to the winner he struck at Wembley Stadium as The Magpies ended their 70-year domestic silverware drought by lifting the 2025 Carabao Cup.
The striker's post comes a day after Newcastle confirmed the transfer with a terse 37-word statement.
It read: "Newcastle United can announce the sale of striker Alexander Isak to Liverpool for a significant British record transfer fee.
"The Sweden international joined The Magpies from Real Sociedad in 2022 and made 109 appearances in all competitions."
Isak scored 62 goals and provided 11 assists in his three seasons on Tyneside to help Newcastle finish fourth, seventh and fifth in the Premier League, securing qualification for the UEFA Champions League twice.

Newcastle signed two forwards to replace their outgoing striker and Callum Wilson, bringing in Yoane Wissa from Brentford and Nick Woltemade from Stuttgart.
Isak will join up with fellow new recruits Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong, Milos Kerkez, Hugo Ekitike and Giovanni Leoni after he returns from international duty with Sweden.
The earliest Liverpool fans can expect to see their record signing make his debut is September 14, when The Reds travel to face Burnley.
