Alexander-Arnold to sign five-year deal

Trent Alexander-Arnold is expected to sign a five-year contract with Real Madrid but it remains unclear whether he will sign in time to play in the Club World Cup, multiple outlets report.
After confirming he will be leaving Liverpool at the end of the season, Real Madrid are reportedly set to sign the England international as a free agent, and he is said to be signing a contract worth around £7.5m a year after tax.
Real may have to pay Liverpool compensation, however, if they want him in time for the summer tournament.
The Guardian adds: “He has long been linked with a move to Real and the sense that he was destined to join the Spanish giants only strengthened after they made a £20m bid for the player on New Year’s Eve that was rejected immediately by Liverpool. The club knew they risked losing an asset for nothing this summer but were determined not to undermine their chances of winning the Premier League title.
“Liverpool could receive a compensation fee for Alexander-Arnold if he joins Real before his contract expires on 30 June. Real are competing in the Club World Cup this summer and are entitled to register new players from 1-10 June. However, it is unclear when Alexander-Arnold will complete his move to the Bernabéu.”

New Chelsea contract for Caicedo

Chelsea are expected to reward Moises Caicedo with a new contract this summer, the Telegraph reports. The midfielder is set to see a 20% boost in his wages if Chelsea clinch Champions League qualification.
He was recently voted Chelsea’s men’s player of the year and players’ player of the year at the club’s awards ceremony on Sunday night, after the club’s victory over Liverpool.
The Telegraph adds: “Chelsea set a new British record by signing Caicedo in a deal worth £115 million from Brighton two summers ago and the Ecuadorian’s current deal does not expire until 2031.
“That means there is no pressure on Chelsea to extend his contract or need to rush to offer new terms. But the club proved with Cole Palmer and Nicolas Jackson last summer that they are prepared to reward players for improvement.
“Chelsea will not start any talks regarding contracts while the season is ongoing, particularly with so much at stake, but the expectation is that the issue will be discussed in June with Caicedo high on the agenda.”

Sane shocks Bayern

Leroy Sane is said to have surprised Bayern Munich by performing a contract U-turn and changing his agent, putting Premier League clubs Arsenal and Chelsea on red alert, the Daily Mail reports.
The German forward was said to be close to agreeing a new deal at Bayern, expected to be a three-year extension on reduced wages, and had even publicly revealed his desire to stay.
However, the Mail adds: “In a bombshell meeting on Saturday night, Sane informed bosses he would be working with Pini Zahavi and leaving former representatives 11Wins.
“The 29-year-old is dissatisfied with the package on the table and he will no longer consider a lower salary without a signing fee, which team-mates Alphonso Davies and Jamal Musiala received with their new deals.
“Despite being caught by surprise, Bayern's management don't plan to make major changes to the terms on offer and are awaiting Zahavi's demands.”
