Real Sociedad desperate to keep Zubimendi
Real Sociedad are desperate to hold on to star player Martin Zubimendi, who has been strongly linked with a move to Liverpool.
The Spain international is said to be close to a move to Anfield but, according to a report in the Mirror, Real Sociedad are hopeful of keeping him.
“Liverpool face a battle to land Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad as the Spanish club are fighting to convince the midfielder to stay,” writes the outlet.
“The Reds are hoping that the player will push for the move which will help in any negotiations between the clubs if they don’t trigger his £51million release clause.
“But La Real are launching a charm offensive to try to convince the Spain international to stay so now the pressure is on.
“They don’t want him to go and don’t feel like in a financial situation that they need to sell. They’ve already offloaded defender Robin Le Normand to Atletico Madrid earlier this summer and are keen to avoid another top player leaving.”

Burney demand up to £30m for Berge
Manchester United will have to pay Burnley up to £30 million if they want to capture the signature of Sander Berge, claims The Sun.
The outlet writes that United have already “made contact” with the midfielder’s representatives and that Burnley “would be willing to sell him”.
However, the report adds: “Despite that drop into the Championship they will refuse to sell the 26-year-old cheap, however.
“SunSport understands that the Red Devils would be prepared to pay £20m for the midfielder signed for £12m from Sheffield United a year ago.
“Burnley, now bossed by Scott Parker after Vincent Kompany took over at Bayern Munich, would hold out for £10m more for the Norway international.
“And they are under no pressure to sell given that they have a £100m parachute payment to rely on.“

Zaha could return to Palace for third spell
Wilfried Zaha could return to Crystal Palace for a third spell, reports The Telegraph.
Zaha left Selhurst Park last summer for Galatasaray, but just 12 months on the 31-year-old could make his way back to London.
The Telegraph suggests that “both parties have agreed that he can seek new options this summer, with the Premier League a likely destination”.
While a permanent move may be unlikely, Palace could land Zaha on loan.
"Galatasaray are seeking a loan fee of around £9 million to cover some of the cost of the player’s wages," the report adds.
The Ivory Coast international made his debut for Palace aged 17 and joined Manchester United in 2013, only to return the following summer.
