Liverpool have reached a full agreement with Bayer Leverkusen for Florian Wirtz in a deal worth £116m including add-ons, according to multiple reports.
The 22-year-old midfielder, who reportedly agreed to the deal two weeks ago, is expected to sign for the Premier League champions when he returns from his holiday.
The total package of £116m is reported to include easily achievable bonuses as well as others dependent on Liverpool’s success, including whether they win the UEFA Champions League.
A £116m fee would break the British transfer record of £115m paid by Chelsea for Moises Caicedo from Brighton in August 2023.
It would also smash Liverpool's record fee, having paid Benfica £85m for Darwin Nunez in June 2022.
The German is set to become just the 10th player ever to be sold for a fee of over £100m.
Wirtz had reportedly made clear his preference for joining Arne Slot’s side, despite interest from Manchester City and Bayern Munich.
Having made his Leverkusen debut at the age of 17, the midfielder has gone on to score 57 goals in 197 games for the German side.

He registered 23 goal involvements in the Bundesliga in the 2023/24 campaign as Leverkusen went unbeaten to claim their first-ever league title.
He matched that tally once again last season as his side finished second, behind Bayern.
Wirtz is set to join his former Leverkusen team-mate Jeremie Frimpong, who made the move to Anfield earlier this summer for a fee of £29.5m.
