Branthwaite's wage demands
Jarrad Branthwaite is demanding Everton match the £160,000-a-week Manchester United are offering the young defender.
That is according to a report in the Mail, which claims The Toffees will not accept an offer of less than £70 million for the 22-year-old.
Everton have reportedly rejected a £50m bid from The Red Devils.
“The 22-year-old still has three years left on his current contract, understood to be worth around £70,000-a-week, but Everton are ready to offer new terms to reflect his worth to Sean Dyche's team,” continues the report.
“Talks have still to take place over new figures with those negotiations more likely to be at the end of the window but Mail Sport understands Branthwaite is prepared to hold off extending his time at Everton unless they can get close to United's proposal.
“For their part, Manchester United have stepped back from transfer talks for now after sporting director Dan Ashworth's last conversation with his Everton counterpart Kevin Thelwell.”
Fulham ready to break transfer record to land Smith Rowe
Fulham will break their transfer record to land Arsenal's Emile Smith Rowe, claims the Guardian.
Smith Rowe was not a regular in Mikel Arteta's first-team last season, and was omitted from the squad that drew 1-1 with Bournemouth in California on Wednesday.
"Negotiations over the 23-year-old are continuing but Fulham are understood to be confident of wrapping up a deal," writes the outlet.
"They had a £30m offer rejected last week but returned with a bid worth up to £35m with add-ons – a fee that would which surpass the club record £27m paid for the Ivory Coast midfielder Jean Michael Seri in 2018."
The 23-year-old has played 115 games for the Gunners since making his debut in September 2018, scoring 18 goals.
Man Utd consider Toney
Manchester United will consider making a move for Ivan Toney - if Brentford lower their asking price to £40m.
A report in the Express suggests Erik ten Hag's side are monitoring the England international's situation at Brentford.
Toney will be a free agent when his contract expires next summer.
"Manchester United are reportedly considering a move for Brentford forward Ivan Toney if his price tag decreases," notes the outlet.
"The striker has been heavily linked with a move away from the Bees this summer, fuelling speculation himself by openly discussing how he would be keen to kick-start a new project elsewhere with a top club.
"According to GiveMeSport, the Red Devils are considering opening talks with Thomas Frank’s side to discuss a move for the 28-year-old. However, they will only look to strike a deal if Toney’s price tag is reduced to £40million or below.
"United are aware that the striker won’t put pen to paper on a new contract with Brentford and, with his deal expiring with the club next summer, they believe that the Bees could reluctantly accept a lesser offer for the forward."
