Mbeumo talks continue as Spurs snubbed

Manchester United continue their negotiations for Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo, with other clubs unlikely to get a look-in.
The Athletic claims Mbeumo has told Brentford that he has no interest in any other club than United.
The website explains: "Bryan Mbeumo has informed Brentford and Tottenham Hotspur of his decision to sign for Manchester United if he makes a transfer this summer.
"Mbeumo is under contract at Brentford until June 2026 and they have an option to extend the deal by a further 12 months.
"But the forward has attracted interest from [the] likes of Arsenal, Manchester United, Newcastle United and Spurs.
"The Athletic revealed that he wants to join Manchester United, subject to the clubs reaching an agreement, and they contacted Brentford to discuss a switch.
"An opening offer worth £45 million plus £10m in add-ons fell some way short of Brentford’s valuation.
"A second proposal at £55m and £7.5m of bonuses was also rejected - but talks continue as the 20-time English champions attempt to find a compromise."

Paqueta wanted by Flamengo

Lucas Paqueta is a target for his former club, Flamengo, and The Sun believes he is keen to move on from West Ham United after a difficult season.
The 27-year-old Brazilian failed to impress under Graham Potter last term, and could now return home.
The paper reports: "Lucas Paqueta could be set to move back to his boyhood club, SunSport can reveal.
"The West Ham midfielder, previously a target of Manchester City, is dreaming of a return to Flamengo, where he started his career.
"And his former club are believed to be keen to make a deal happen if they can.
"The Brazilian - who is facing a betting probe - endured a difficult season last term as The Hammers struggled to make an impact under new boss Graham Potter.
"And sources close to the 27-year-old told SunSport how he thinks now might be the time for a fresh start."

Balotelli poised to move to Spanish third tier

Mario Balotelli is set to make an unexpected move to the third division of the Spanish football pyramid as he prepares to leave Serie A side Genoa.
The Mirror believes that after moving on from talks to join CF Intercity, Balotelli could move to Murcia.
The paper states: "Former Manchester City and Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli could be plying his trade in the Spanish third tier next season, with a swift exit from current side Genoa brewing.
"Balotelli has had a journeyman career since the early heights and could be about to drop down two divisions to find his 13th club.
"Balotelli previously held talks over signing for CF Intercity – a third-division club based in Alicante – and a similar move is now in the offing.
"The striker’s agents met with Murcia president Felipe Moreno in Madrid recently and a contract has been discussed with sporting director Asier Goiria.
"Murcia, based in south-eastern Spain, will be playing in the third division next season after suffering defeat in the promotion play-offs. They will be pushing for promotion to the second tier once again in 2025/26."

Betis want Danilo loan

Real Betis hope to sign Nottingham Forest midfielder Danilo on loan for the upcoming season.
Danilo had been poised to join Lyon before they were relegated from the French top flight, leaving him on the hunt for a new club.
The Daily Mail writes: "Real Betis want Danilo on loan from Nottingham Forest as his proposed move to Lyon hangs in the balance.
"The 24-year-old Brazilian midfielder has been set for a £20 million switch to Lyon before the French club were demoted to the second tier for financial offences.
"Lyon plan to appeal and Forest are waiting but the transfer will not be possible if the relegation is confirmed."
