Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United among six Premier League clubs chasing Wolves striker Matheus Cunha - Paper Round

There are six Premier League sides who are keen to sign Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Matheus Cunha, while Manchester United have a list of strikers they could move for if they sell one of Kobbie Mainoo or Alejandro Garnacho. Elsewhere, Liverpool are again linked with Lille’s Jonathan David, and Barcelona may not move for United's Marcus Rashford.

Six clubs want Cunha

Wolves forward Matheus Cunha continues to attract speculation over his future.
The Daily Mail believes that Nottingham Forest, Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester United, Tottenham and Newcastle are all keen.
The paper writes: "Mail Sport revealed on Tuesday that Nottingham Forest have made Cunha their top target. That would go down well in the Midlands, wouldn't it? Just ask Morgan Gibbs-White.
"Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, Newcastle and Tottenham are also linked with him. Meanwhile, Wolves are scrambling to secure him on a new deal and keep him away from the clutches of the elite. Their upturn under Vitor Pereira could prove persuasive.
"Cunha's contract runs until 2027, which gives the Molineux side a strong hand around the negotiating table.
"But there are some frustrations rippling around the 25-year-old, with some questioning his attitude over the past few days. One of those was the man who writes his name on the teamsheet every week."

United consider transfer options

Manchester United are said to have four names on their shortlist as they consider a striker.
If they raise funds from a player sale, Liam Delap, Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha could all be domestic options, while Lille’s Jonathan David is another under consideration.
The Sun writes: "Manchester United have drawn up a four-man striker shortlist.
"But The Red Devils will need to flog at least one of Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho or Kobbie Mainoo to fund a striker swoop this month.
"Selling any of these three homegrown products would hugely benefit United from a PSR perspective.
"Rashford's ÂŁ315,000 a week salary makes a move challenging, although he has received interest from Borussia Dortmund and Barcelona.
"Chelsea and Napoli are keen on Garnacho, meanwhile, with The Blues also holding an interest in Mainoo.
"Man Utd scouts have been tracking Prem trio Liam Delap, Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha.
"While Lille striker Jonathan David is also on their radar."

Liverpool track David

Jonathan David is also a target for Premier League table-toppers Liverpool.
The Mirror believes that David, who will be a free agent in the summer, could make his way to Anfield.
The paper states: "The 25-year-old has previously been on a Liverpool shortlist, when the club signed Diogo Jota. The Reds have been linked with a move for David, who is not expected to sign a contract extension in France.
"David has already revealed he is open to a Premier League move in the summer. But it is not the only destination he is focussed on as he considers the next step in his career.
"David’s representatives have recently reiterated that everything is on the table when it comes to his future."

Garcia could halt move for Rashford

Eric Garcia’s future at Barcelona was unclear, but his recent impressive displays may persuade Hansi Flick to keep him.
The Athletic thinks that if the defender is retained, Barcelona will then find it hard to fund a move for Marcus Rashford.
The website explains: "Garcia was certainly one of the footballers tipped to potentially raise funds in this transfer window. Girona and Real Sociedad want to sign him, as well as Serie A side Como.
"However, Flick is hesitant about selling the defender, given his tactical adaptability, how he balances the team and the work ethic he brings to the dressing room.
"After what happened in Lisbon, Flick now has a stronger argument to keep the centre-back, and if Garcia does not leave, Rashford will most likely not head to Barcelona.
"Plot twists can never be dismissed in a Barcelona transfer window, but the Benfica game may have dampened any hopes of seeing Rashford at the club.
"Not that this would have a massive impact on Flick’s plans – Rashford would not arrive as a starter. He would be competing with Ferran Torres to be the team’s backup plan. Torres has accepted this role, but would Rashford? Or is Barcelona simply the best escape route from an uncomfortable situation?
"The coming days will resolve those questions, but Rashford to Barcelona continues to feel like an odd fit."
