Thomas Tuchel has agreed terms to become England manager, according to multiple reports.
The FA have reportedly completed talks with Tuchel, who is believed to have accepted an offer after contact was made in July.
Tuchel led Chelsea to UEFA Champions League glory in 2020/21, before being dismissed at the beginning of the 2022/23 season, shortly after the arrival of new owners Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital.
After leaving Chelsea, Tuchel had a year-long stint with Bundesliga club Bayern, where he initially led the Bavarians to an 11th consecutive league title, before a second-placed finish the following season.
He also took Bayern to the semi-finals of last season's Champions League, where they lost to eventual winners Real Madrid.
The 51-year-old was named the men's UEFA Coach of the Year for his success at Chelsea in 2020/21. His list of honours also includes two Ligue 1 titles with Paris Saint-Germain, in 2018/19 and 2019/20.
The news comes amid a backdrop of intense speculation around the England job, which had seen Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola linked with the role.
Reports suggested the Spaniard was "sounded out" by the FA at the start of the season. Guardiola's City contract is set to expire at the end of the 2024/25 campaign.
Other names linked with the role have included Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe and out-of-work Graham Potter.

Southgate resigned from the England hot-seat after leading the Three Lions to the Euro 2024 final in the summer, in which they were beaten 2-1 by Spain.
Lee Carsley took over as interim manager and has overseen three wins and a defeat in his four UEFA Nations League matches in charge.
Following his side's 3-1 victory over Finland in Helsinki on Sunday, Carsley said: “This job deserves a world-class coach who has won trophies, been there and done it, and I’m still on the path to doing that.”
