Good afternoon and welcome to Eurosport's LIVE text commentary of the FA Cup quarter final clash between giant-killers Wigan Athletic and Premier League strugglers Southampton. It has been a season to forget so far for the Saints but remarkably they can yet book their place at Wembley if they can overcome League 1 Wigan in Mark Hughes' first game in charge.

Fantastic football from Wigan as they work the ball into the visitors' penalty area with some great one-touch, intricate passing. But they take one touch too many allowing Southampton to clear.
34'
Lemina concedes a needless foul as he bundles Roberts over on the right channel. But Wigan's free-kick comes to little.

DANGEROUS!
Bertrand bends a lovely cross into the six-yard box and Gabbiadini almost applies the finishing touch. However, he can't quite get on the end of it and anyway, he was in an offside position.

Southampton win a free-kick to relieve some pressure.
Tadic whips a cross into the danger area and the ball falls kindly for Carrillo, but he can't quite get it under control and Wigan scramble clear.
28'
Wigan continue to apply heavy pressure on the visitors as they force their EIGHTH corner of the game. But Power's cross is caught by the wind and goes out of play before bending back into the penalty area.
25'
You would never guess Wigan were the League One side, based on the opening 25 minutes of this encounter.
The hosts have had more possession (53% to 47%), more shots and more corners than their so-called superior opponents.
22'
Southampton are pinned inside their own half and they're forced to concede yet another corner - Wigan's SIXTH of the game!
The ball is whipped in but Stephens manages to scramble it behind for yet another corner.

CHANCE FOR WIGAN!
Massey twists and turns on the edge of the area before chipping a cross into the path of Grigg who is beaten to the ball by Stephens. But it falls to Roberts who should blast a shot at goal but instead tries to be clever with a lob and can only poke it over the bar.

Here comes the visitors, though.
Boufal works the ball down the right channel and cuts the ball back for Lemina. He nutmegs his marker before curling the ball high into the stands, aiming for the top corner.
18'
These are nervous times for Southampton.
17'
Desperately unfortunate from a Wigan perspective. Paul Cook had his head in his hands.

SO CLOSE!
Bryne drags a low shot across the face of goal, it takes a deflection and Dunkley can't quite apply the finishing touch as the ball spins agonisingly wide of Southampton's post.
14'
The corner, Wigan's second of the afternoon, comes to little but Cook will be pleased with the bright start his side have made.
13'
Wigan launch a swift counter-attack, with full-back Byrne leading the charge. He plays a lovely reverse pass to Grigg on the right side of the penalty area, he holds the ball up well and flashes a shot at goal. It's deflected out for a corner.
12'
Carrilo, who cost Southampton over £19m, is still awaiting his first goal for the Saints. Value for money right there, folks.
11'
Boufal swings a free-kick into the danger area which Wigan goalkeeper Walton spills! It falls at the feet of Carrillo but he fails to connect with the shot and Walton gratefully gathers on the second attempt.
It's a let off for the hosts.
9'
Jacobs' run comes to an end when he is shoved to the floor by Cedric but the referee Michael Oliver signals play on. And Wigan manager Paul Cook is furious.
8'
Woops! Wigan pass the ball back to Walton but it takes a bobble and the goalkeeper is left with an awkward clearance.
6'
Will Grigg has SEVEN goals in this season's FA Cup, including bagging the winner against Man City in the previous round. Will Southampton be able to stop him?
4'
Wigan force the first corner of the game, which Max Power (what a name!) takes. The ball is caught by the wind as it curls all the way to Massey on the edge of the box, and he fires it over on the half-volley.
3'
Plenty of tackles flying in and if Southampton didn't believe they were in for a scrap, they do now.
