Lautaro Martinez signs five-year Inter Milan contract extension ahead of new Serie A season and Genoa opener

Lautaro Martinez has committed his future to Inter Milan. The Argentina international, who was top scorer in Serie A last season with 24 goals for the champions, has penned a new deal until 2029. "I am very happy to have extended my contract with Inter," said Martinez, who helped Argentina win the Copa America in the summer, finishing as top scorer with five goals at the tournament.

Lautaro Martinez has signed a new five-year deal with Inter Milan until 2029.
The forward has scored 129 goals in 282 appearances for Inter since joining from Racing Club in 2018.
He was top scorer in Serie A last season with 24 goals as Inter won the title.
“I am very happy to have extended my contract with Inter," he said on Instagram. "And I am proud to have the privilege of continuing to wear the captain's armband to defend our colours as I have always done since the day I arrived in Milan.
"We have a long season ahead of us and we need all of you. Thank you so much for the support, affection and love you have always shown me."
Inter start the defence of their Serie A title against Genoa on Saturday, August 17, live on TNT Sports and discovery+.
Martinez has won Serie A and the Coppa Italia twice during his time at Inter.
He has also been a runner-up in the UEFA Champions League in 2022/23 and UEFA Europa League in 2019/20.
He was part of Argentina’s World Cup-winning team in 2022 and inspired them to victory at the Copa America this summer, netting five times to finish as the tournament's top scorer.
His previous deal with Inter was set to expire in 2026.
