Victor Osimhen's agent considers legal action against Serie A club Napoli over social media post

Victor Osimhen fired Napoli to the Serie A title last season, but this campaign has not started as positively for the striker. He missed a penalty in a draw with Bologna at the weekend and the club TikTok account seemingly mocked him in a video of the incident. Osimhen’s agent says they could take legal action while the striker has deleted photos of himself in a Napoli shirt on social media.

Victor Osimhen’s agent has threatened legal action against Napoli following a social media clip released by the club that appeared to mock the striker.
The Serie A champions posted a video on their TikTok account which showed the striker missing a penalty in the weekend’s goalless draw against Bologna.
A high-pitched voice was dubbed over the video that then shows Osimhen putting the spot-kick wide.
The post has since been deleted.
"We reserve the right to take legal action and any useful initiative to protect Victor," Osimhen’s agent Roberto Calenda wrote on X.
"What happened today on Napoli's official profile on the TikTok platform is not acceptable.
"A video mocking Victor was first made public but now belatedly, deleted. A serious fact that causes very serious damage to the player and adds to the treatment that the boy is suffering in the last period between media trials and fake news."
According to Eurosport Italy, Osimhen reacted by removing almost all photos of him in a Napoli shirt from his Instagram profile.
He also stopped following Napoli on the social media platform and deleted any mention of the club from his bio.
Osimhen was substituted late on in the draw against Bologna and appeared to shout at manager Rudi Garcia as he left the pitch.
It has been reported that Osimhen apologised for his reaction, and Garcia played down the incident following the match.
“Even the greatest players in the history of football miss penalties. As for when he went off, we talked about that, what I say to my players remains in the locker room,” said Garcia.
“We have a lot of quality in the squad and on the bench…when we have this much quality, we can’t always have 90 minutes with the same men, especially as we have four games in nine days.”
Osimhen was top scorer in Serie A last season as Napoli won the title.
This season he has three goals in six appearances as Napoli have made a slow start to their title defence.
