Montolivo and Mutu work the ball...Mutu chips to Gilardino who heads back to Mutu his cross comes across goal but no one is on hand to meet it.

Pastore to Miccoli out to Nocerino, but Behrami comes back to help out.

Bovo and Balzaretti try to settle things down and Miccoli wins a free-kick.

Santana is standing over it...off the wall but it falls to Donadel who blazes high over goal.

Yellow card here for Munoz, he's just stepped across Mutu and taken out his left leg. Free-kick on the edge of the area.

Santana has it in the box but can't hold onto it...Palermo move it forward but Migliaccio's cross from the left is cut out.

Gilardino flagged for offside.

Palermo look to fashion something but Fiorentina clear toward Mutu who loses out.

Behrami has it in the box, but loses out to Balzaretti... Nocerino streaks down field.

Gilardino again!!! great save from Sirigu...Gilardino was bearing down on goal once more after being played in behind Palermo's defence. Sirigu closed the angle down well there as he came off his line, text book goal keeping there.

He picked up a little flick from Mutu and took it on goal but shot just wide.

Ohhhh so close for Fiorentina...Gilardino.

Palermo are trying to settle on the ball, but Fiorentina are working well to close down space in the midfield.

Palermo clear through Nocerino.

Behrami wins a free-kick on the right after clashing with Balzaretti. The ref goes to his pocket and issues Balzaretti with a yellow card.

Mutu steps up...his effort clears the wall but goes over the bar.

Mutu chests the ball down and goes down in a heap just outside the area. Fiorentina have a free-kick with Mutu lining it up.

Fiorentina are trying to press forward but Bovo is solid at the back for Palermo.

Santana see's his cross go wide much to the home crowd's delight.

What a great start from the Sicilian side it's just what they needed. Ilicic and Pastore combined with a fantastic move. Fiorentina had no chance.

GOALLLL!!! PASTORE!!!! Palermo hit the front early, Ilicic cut the ball back for Pastore from the right and he side footed his shot past Boruc into the top corner.
