Ruben Amorim: Manchester United on risk of sacking after slump in form - 'Every manager is in danger'

Ruben Amorim knows the consequences of failure at Manchester United despite having spent only a short time at the club. The Portuguese coach will hope to bounce back from back-to-back Premier League defeats when his side face Newcastle on December 30. Amorim also said his United players should not "cry" about the number of goals they have conceded directly from corners in recent games.

Ruben Amorim insisted he understands the consequences of failing to turn Manchester United's faltering season around despite having spent less than two months at Old Trafford.
Amorim only took over from former Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag at the start of November but the 39-year-old is already feeling the pressure after back-to-back defeats against Bournemouth and Wolves.
Those losses have left United in 14th place, just eight points clear of the relegation zone at the mid-way point of the campaign.
Amorim said he knows how much pressure there is to perform, but was adamant that he would not have it any other way.
"The manager of Manchester United can never, no matter what, be comfortable, and I know the business that I’m in," Amorim said.
"I know that if we don’t win, regardless of if they paid the buy-out [for me] or not, I know that every manager is in danger and I like that. I like that because that is the job.

"You can argue that I have been here one month and I’ve had four training [sessions], but we are not winning.
"That is the reality and I’m quite comfortable with that."
United have conceded directly from corners in two of their last three games across all competitions.
Son Heung-min curled one over Altay Bayındır in the League Cup defeat to Spurs before Matheus Cunha did the same to Andre Onana on Thursday for Wolves.
Amorim believes his side should try to emulate their opponents rather than complain.
"[We] must not cry about it," he added.
"We have to focus on doing the same thing to the opponent — that is my goal. We just have to copy."

The Portuguese coach wants his side to lift their supporters after a testing two months when The Red Devils face Newcastle on December 30.
"We have to fight against everything because our supporters are always there, but they are tired of this moment," he added.
"We have to expect that any play from Newcastle near our box is going to make the stadium nervous and our players have to cope with that.
"We want to be competitive and try to win the game."
