Brighton and Brentford increased their chances of European football next season by away wins on Saturday, while Fulham's hopes were dented by a home defeat to Everton.
Manchester City almost missed out on cementing their place in the UEFA Champions League next season after a shock goalless draw at relegated Southampton.
David Moyes steered Everton to another win in his second tenure as manager as they came back from a goal down away to Fulham.
Veteran forward Raul Jimenez scored for Fulham on 17 minutes with a powerful header, before Ukrainian defender Vitalii Mykolenko scored in added time in the first half to level the scores, as he drilled home from the edge of the box with a shot that took a deflection.
Defender Michael Keane then scored to put the visitors ahead on 70 minutes when he headed home from a corner at the back post, and Beto added a third three minutes later as his shot crept in at the far post.
Everton are now in 13th place after being steered away from the drop zone, and Marco Silva’s side are 11th.

Ipswich Town suffered another defeat as the already relegated Tractor Boys suffered a 1-0 loss at home to Brentford.
Kevin Schade scored after 18 minutes for the away side with an outstanding solo goal after cutting in from the left-hand side and finding the far corner.
Ipswich remain 18th, and Brentford are eighth, level on points with Brighton but above them on goal difference.
Wolves fell to a 2-0 defeat at Molineux against Brighton, with Danny Welbeck continuing his impressive season.

The former Manchester United and Arsenal striker scored from the spot on 28 minutes, reaching double figures for the first time since the 2017/18 campaign. Brajan Gruda settled the tie with a late goal - his first for the club.
The win leaves Brighton in ninth, while Wolves are in 14th, two points clear of Manchester United.
Pep Guardiola recalled Erling Haaland to the line-up after the Norwegian striker had missed several weeks through injury, as the Spaniard looked to bring the forward back to full fitness ahead of the FA Cup final and Club World Cup.
Southampton were already relegated after a woeful season in the top flight, but held on as City enjoyed almost 75% of possession in the match to leave Haaland and City frustrated in their chase for second, as the match finished 0-0.
The draw leaves City two points behind Arsenal, who have a game in hand.
