Injured Marcus Rashford may have played final Aston Villa game with season at risk
Marcus Rashford was absent for Aston Villa's FA Cup semi-final defeat to Crystal Palace on Saturday and might not pull on the claret and blue shirt again this season. A hamstring issue will reportedly keep the England striker sidelined until the final stretch of the campaign, and he is ineligible for Villa's final-day clash with parent club Manchester United.

Marcus Rashford could miss the remainder of the season after the Aston Villa striker suffered a hamstring injury.
The England striker, who joined the Birmingham club on loan from Manchester United in January, missed Saturday’s FA Cup semi-final defeat to Crystal Palace.
Media reports on Monday said that a hamstring problem would require a scan and could sideline Rashford for the remainder of the 2024/25 campaign.
A slim possibility remains that he could return to fitness in time to face Tottenham Hotspur in Villa’s penultimate game of the Premier League season on May 18.
But he will be ineligible for his club’s final-day match regardless, as it is against Rashford’s parent club Manchester United.
Villa manager Unai Emery suggested Rashford would take "some weeks" to recover following his side’s 3-0 loss to Palace at Wembley.
"He's injured. He got injured this week and [Friday] we did a test. It's his hamstring," Emery said.
"We are going to try to test him each match, but he's injured and probably some weeks he won't be available."

The injury comes as a significant blow to Villa, who remain firmly in contention for a top-five spot that would seal a second consecutive year of UEFA Champions League football.
Rashford has scored four goals and provided six assists in 17 appearances for Villa across all competitions since his mid-season arrival.

His loan deal is over at the end of the season, when he will return to Old Trafford, but his future there remains uncertain despite having a contract until 2028.
With Emery’s side now out of the FA Cup after falling to a narrow 5-4 aggregate defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League quarter-finals, their focus is solely on Premier League matters.
