Crystal Palace 3-0 Aston Villa: FA Cup result as Ismaila Sarr double and Eberechi Eze strike put Eagles in the final at Wembley

Ismailia Sarr netted twice after Eberechi Eze's opener as Crystal Palace impressively downed Aston Villa at Wembley to reach the FA Cup Final for the third time.

Oliver Glasner was happy for Villa to have the majority of possession with his team keen to catch them on the break, as they often did and could have won by an even greater margin.

After a slow start to the match, just after the half-hour mark, Sarr found Eze 25 yards from goal and his curling effort just beat Emiliano Martinez before nestling in the roof of the net.

Jean-Philippe Mateta clipped the post from the penalty spot but soon afterwards set up Sarr, who missed a couple of gilt-edged chances but on this occasion drove a low effort in off the post, giving the Villa stopper little chance.

In injury time, Sarr raced through one-on-one with Martinez to add deserved gloss to the scoreline and The Eagles will now play the winners of tomorrow's match between Nottingham Forest and Manchester City in the domestic showpiece match on May 17.

But it didn't matter at all.

Eagles in rapturous delight after a dominating display against Aston Villa. They will feel their name may well be on the FA Cup trophy for the first time.

Sarr strikes again. Nketiah beats Tielemans for strength, then plays the ball in front of Sarr who races forward against Martinez one on one and guides the ball past the Argentine keeper.

It falls to Malen but he shoots well wide. There are seven minutes of injury time, but it feels like there could double that and it wouldn't matter.

Lerma and Hughes come on for the England internationals.

But the strike drifts wide of Henderson's goal.

Not a bad replacement at wing back.

And his effort is deflected but Martinez just manages to hold onto it.

Fine inswinging cross from Kamada but Sarr with a free header misses the target heading back across the goal.

A well-deserved huge ovation from the Palace fans for their striker.

But Henderson gets a strong hand to the ball and pushes it to safety.

Back in his own box, the striker puts in a perfect sliding tackle to deny a chance for Villa.

He gets behind the defence on the right flank again, but no one is racing into the box to get on the end of his ball.

But it drifts harmlessly wide of the target.

Barkley and Ramsey come on for Asensio and Kamara.

But he can't squeeze a ball through to a team mate.

Rogers puts in a cross which Hendereson flaps at but the ball deflected, it seems, off Pau Torres, amid a melee of Palace bodies, a yard in front of the goal-line and diverts over the bar.

But his strike is a long way over the bar.

But Richards heads away to safety.
