REPORT: ISAK ON FIRE AS NEWCASTLE CLIMB INTO TOP FOUR
Alexander Isak scored in his eighth Premier League game on the spin as Newcastle United beat Wolverhampton Wanderers 3-0 at St James' Park to move up to fourth in the division.
The Swedish forward opened the scoring in the first half, as his strike from the edge of the box found the bottom corner via a huge deflection off Wolves' Premier League debutant Emmanuel Agbadou.
There was less luck involved in his second, slotting home past Jose Sa after being found in acres of space in the penalty area by a clever through-ball from Bruno Guimaraes after the interval.
The 25-year-old turned provider as he teed up Anthony Gordon to add a third following a swift counter-attack from the hosts.
Wolves had several chances to get on the scoresheet, with Jorgen Strand-Larsen striking the woodwork in each half, while VAR denied them a consolation at 3-0 when Hugo Bueno was judged to have handled the ball before prodding home from a corner.
Matheus Cunha was only introduced to the game at half-time following his two-match suspension, but was at the heart of everything positive for Vitor Pereira's men in the second period.

ISAK HAS 'CALMESS AND COOLNESS OF TOP PLAYERS', SAYS HOWE
Discussing Newcastle's performance, manager Eddie Howe told TNT Sports: "Very pleased, I thought we had to keep going today.
"I thought Wolves played well. It's always difficult against a back five when they defend as deep as they did in that first half to break them down, so we had to be patient today."
On Isak's first goal, he said: "I think the first goal was key today.
"He's got that freedom and then he's a really good dribbler, so these moments - we encourage him to get on the ball as much as he can.
"He's got a bit of luck with the deflection but he probably deserves it in the end."
Discussing the second goal, he said: "That's why he's such a good player, because that looks an easy finish - he makes it look easy, but it's absolutely not because you might get one of those in a game and you've got to take it; we need him to take it.
"But he's got that calmness and that coolness which all the top players have."

ISAK 'HUNGRY FOR MORE'
Discussing his prolific goalscoring form, Newcastle's Alexander Isak told TNT Sports: "I feel very good. Obviously, my ambition is always to score. I think that's the best way I can help the team.
"I think it's a team performance and it's not just what I do going forward. I think defending the goal as well, we've been so solid lately. I'm really happy with the whole performance."
On his own development, he said: "I feel very good, I feel like I'm taking steps all the time, I feel like I've developed as a player and obviously hungry for more.
"I'm happy but you have to keep working hard to stay at the same level and even do better."

NEWCASTLE UP TO FOURTH AS WOLVES SLIP INTO BOTTOM THREE
Newcastle United's 3-0 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers sees them extend their winning run in the Premier League to six games and to nine in all competitions.
The result sees them leapfrog Chelsea into the top four, a point ahead of The Blues, who in comparison are without a win in five league games.
Alexander Isak's 14th and 15th goals of the season have seen him become the fourth player in Premier league history to score in eight successive games.
As for Wolves, the margin of victory sees them fall into the relegation zone on goal difference behind Ipswich Town, who host Brighton & Hove Albion tomorrow.
After picking up seven points from their first three matches under Vitor Pereira, they have now lost their last two and travel to Stamford Bridge this weekend.

FULL-TIME: NEWCASTLE UNITED 3-0 WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS
Wolves muster another shot on target as Cunha's cute chipped ball picks out Sarabia but his prodded effort is once again tame and easy for Dubravka.
That is the final action of the game and Newcastle United extend their winning run to nine games in all competitions.
90+7'
GREAT PLAY FROM TONALI
Tonali bursts down the right and picks out Guimares in the box but his effort is blocked.
Tonali then sprints back to dispossess Ait-Nouri and his efforts are appreciated by St James' Park. He really is an excellent footballer.
90+6'
SARABIA SHOULD SCORE
Wolves do have another chance as Sarabia plays a one-two with Semedo to create an opening for himself in space on the penalty spot but his effort is tame and into the arms of Dubravka. He has to do better!

NEWCASTLE ON FOR ANOTHER CLEAN SHEET
Cunha's corner is cleared and back at the feet of the number 10 but the flag is up after Dubravka parried his second delivery into the box.
This will be the Magpies' fifth clean sheet in six Premier League games if they can keep Wolves out for these last moments.
90+1'
LATE PUSH FROM WOLVES
Wolves are awarded a soft free-kick for a foul by Botman on Sarabia. The ball ends up at the feet of Doyle, who strikes from the edge of the box and it's behind for a corner.
There will be eight minutes added on at the end of this. I suppose mainly from the two VAR checks for Newcastle's third and Wolves' disallowed strike.

HALL MISSES FROM RANGE
Sarabia looks to slide Larsen in on goal but Dubravka is off his line well to gather.
Almiron holds the ball up before cutting in across the box and picking out Hall. The full-back takes aim but drags his effort wide of the right post.
86'
CHANGES ALL ROUND
Agbadou picks up the yellow card for throwing the ball away following a foul from fellow centre-back Bueno.
The fifth and final change from Howe as Trippier comes on for Livramento. A couple of changes for Wolevs too as Andre and Joao Gomes are replaced by Sarabia and Doyle.

WOLVES HIT THE BAR
Another change from Newcastle as Joelinton is replaced by Miley.
Ait-Nouri is then freed down the left for Wolves and plays an excellent low ball across the area. Larsen is there and looks to prod home but Dubravka gets a touch on the effort to divert it onto the crossbar. Huge save!
80'
DISALLOWED GOAL!
Wolves think they have their goal but they are denied by VAR.
Cunha's inswinging corner from the left lands at the feet of Bueno, who is just in front of Dubravka, and he can scramble home from close range.
Replays show though that the ball struck the arm of the defender as the delivery came in and Newcastle's clean sheet remains in tact. Feels harsh.
78'
TRIPLE-CHANGE
The goal leads to a triple-change and it's the front three going off with Gordon, Isak and Murphy being replaced by Willock, Osula and Almiron.
74'
GOAL! NECASTLE UNITED 3-0 WOLVES (GORDON)
Newcastle break rapidly and Joelinton can feed Isak into the right of the box.
His initial ball across the area is cut out but the ball drops back to the striker and he can pick out Gordon, who strokes home into the bottom left corner.
There is a VAR check for whether Isak was offside from the initial Joelinton ball but eventually the lines show he was onside and the goal stands.
73'
CUNHA GOES CLOSE
Semedo plays the ball inside to Cunha, who turns away from Burn nicely. He drives towards the edge of the box and uses the run of Larsen to work room for the shot fires just wide of the right post.

DOUBLE-CHANGE FOR WOLVES
There is a double-change for Wolves as Gomes and Guedes are replaced by Semedo and Bellegarde.
Semedo is immediately involved as he cuts in from the right and lets fly but his low effort looking for the near corner is easily stopped by Dubravka.
