Erik Ten Hag leaves door open for Jadon Sancho to return to Manchester United team - 'You need them all'

Erik ten Hag says Jadon Sancho can work his way back into first-team contention for Manchester United. The winger has not played a Premier League game for The Red Devils in almost a year after being shipped out on loan to Borussia Dortmund last season having been told he could leave Old Trafford. But Ten Hag hasn't ruled out using Sancho, who he has urged - among others - to be "highly motivated".

Erik ten Hag has indicated that Jadon Sancho could win his place back in the Manchester United side.
The England winger has not played a Premier League game for The Red Devils since a high-profile falling out with his manager last season.
That led to Sancho being sent out on loan, as he re-joined Borussia Dortmund in January.
However, he is now back at Old Trafford after healing his rift with Ten Hag, and came on as a late substitute in the Community Shield earlier this month.
Sancho subsequently missed United's win over Fulham on the opening weekend of the Premier League season, but Ten Hag insists he will be picked if needed.
"We have a squad, I hope we will have a squad with double positioning when we go into the season after September 1," Ten Hag said ahead of Saturday's trip to Brighton, which is live on TNT Sports and discovery+.

Ten Hag continued: "That means you can’t select all the players but you need them all throughout the season.
"We have to manage it, the attitude of the players is very important, sometimes they will be disappointed [but] they have to deal with it, you win as a squad.
"The prizes are decided next May and until then we need all the players in the squad [to be] highly motivated, that is not an expectation, that is a demand on the squad."
One of United's new signings held the key to their win over Fulham - substitute Joshua Zirkzee netting a late winner.
It has been a busy summer in the transfer market for United, who have also secured the services of Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui from Bayern Munich, alongside Leny Yoro from Lille.
They have also been linked with a move for Paris Saint-Germain's Manuel Ugarte, and although Ten Hag was tight-lipped on their pursuit of the midfielder, he was happy to comment on the club's business overall.
"When we have news we will bring it," he added. "Be patient, sit, wait, keep working very hard, we will always try to make the best squad possible.
"We have a couple of days and we will always improve, as long as we have the opportunity we will look for it.
"[I am] very pleased. They [the transfers so far] are showing we’re going in the right direction.
"We know as a club we have to catch up but it shows our ambition, the way we want to go, we have done good business, very good players, quality players who will add, contribute to our squad."
