Everton face Southampton in their penultimate Premier League match of the season on Sunday, on an occasion which is sure to leave dry eyes in short supply.
The men's side will bid farewell to Goodison Park, their home stadium since 1892, when they take on the relegated Saints live on TNT Sports and discovery+.
Everton Men will move into their new 52,888-capacity arena from the start of next season following its £800m+ construction, and with David Moyes' side heading to Newcastle on the final day of the current Premier League campaign, Sunday will mark the final time top-flight football graces the surface of Goodison Park.
It will not be the end of the road for Goodison Park though.
The famous stadium will be used to host Everton Women from the 2025-26 season onward.
Nothing but victory will suffice on such an occasion for the iconic venue, which has hosted some memorable top-flight matches during its 133-year history.
Southampton, though, showed on Saturday they know how to spoil an occasion, as they threw Manchester City's UEFA Champions League hopes into uncertainty, holding Pep Guardiola's side to a 0-0 draw.
In doing so, the relegated team now led by interim coach Simon Rusk avoided the tag of becoming the worst team in Premier League history - surpassing Derby County's 2007/08 points tally of 11.
