Phil Foden has been looking ahead to today's top-of-the-table showdown and is well aware that Liverpool have only won one league game at the Etihad since October 2008.

"We’ve only lost once at home in 12 years in the Premier League and that is such a great record to have and we can take confidence from that," he said. "Being a City fan definitely helps. You know what the supporters want. Hopefully I can make them proud on Sunday. All they keep saying is ‘you better win, you better win!’. Hopefully we can get the job done."

Former Liverpool defender and Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher raised a few eyebrows this week with his bold claim about this match-up between Pep's Blues and Jurgen's Reds.

“Liverpool versus Manchester City has become the greatest, most intense and highest quality rivalry in English football history,” said Carragher. There is a uniqueness to it. Pep Guardiola makes three changes to the side that edged out Atletico Madrid in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final in midweek.
