It has been a really interesting battle between Shaw and Costa on the flank and it's about to get a little more exciting as the United full-back is booked for a foul on his opposite number, though I'm not sure how deliberate it was.

A really impressive passage of play from Wolves, but Jonny's through-pass to Doherty is slightly overcooked and United have a goal-kick.

Valencia is searching for Lukaku with his cross but the ball is played behind the Belgian. Still, United have improved vastly since grabbing the break-through goal. They had been second-best in the opening 15 minutes, but this is much better now.

Jota receives the ball in space on the left flank but Fred, who is growing quickly into this contest, is there to make an important block to deny the cross.

Fred floats a cross to the back post where Fellaini rises highest to nod the ball across the face of goal but Wolves manage to scramble it clear.

It is the speed at which Wolves move the ball from defence to attack which is most impressive.

Wolves are refusing to feel sorry for themselves, despite conceding the opening goal. They are moving the ball around with real confidence. Santo's side look really at home in the Premier League.

Pogba now has four goals and two assists in his last seven appearances, and it was his sublime touch which set up Fred for the opener here.

A lovely through-pass find Jimenez but the Wolves playmaker is found to be offside.

That goal has given everyone in red a lift, and now United are controlling possession in midfield. It seems to have settled Mourinho's side down.

Pogba's touch was exquisite, it really was. Wolves had made a fast and threatening start but now they're behind.

A quality strike from Fred who bags his first goal in United colours! It's a goal against the run of play from a player who has struggled to make an impact on the game, until now. A fantastic touch from Pogba on the edge of the box sets the Brazilian up to shoot and he makes no mistake, drilling the ball into the bottom corner.

Wolves are causing the hosts all kinds of problems from set-pieces and they would be ahead, only for a fantastic reaction stop from De Gea who is at full stretch to palm away Boly's header from another corner.

And Wolves spurn a great opportunity to take the lead! Bennett gets away from Smalling to meet a corner delivery but he can't direct his header on goal from only eight yards out.

Of course, no one should be surprised by Wolves' bright opening. With multiple new signings and an impressive manager, they look tremendously well equipped to mount a challenge for a top 10 finish.

Mourinho will be disappointed with Fred's start, too. The midfielder has been guilty of more than one loose passes as United fail to gather any real momentum.

The early signs suggest this could be a lively game. United's shortcomings in defence are well documented but with Pogba, Sanchez and Lukaku in the home side's team, as well as Sanchez who must start playing well soon, there is always a strong chance of a goal.

There are no surprises in United's starting XI this afternoon, but it is surprising how slowly they have started here. They are struggling to keep possession thus far.
