Watford have failed to keep a clean sheet against Arsenal in 10 matches since a 1-0 away victory in 1988.

Lacazette drifts into a wide position, but his cross is easily dealt with by the Watford defence.

It has been an extremely quiet and uneventful quarter of an hour at Vicarage Road, with neither side creating a clear-cut opportunity.

Pereyra sends a cross from deep, but it is too long and despite Doucoure's best efforts, he is unable to keep the ball in play.

CLOSE! A dangerous cross is delivered by Bellerin from the right, but it's slightly too high for Lacazette.

He is currently getting his hand strapped, but Richarlison should be fit to continue.

Richarlison is down and needs some treatment. He seems to have hurt his wrist after falling awkwardly. This is a concern for Watford.

Manchester City, as expected, won earlier, but Liverpool and Manchester United drew, and Chelsea were defeated by Crystal Palace meaning Arsenal can make up some ground on their rivals.

Doucoure tries to thread the eye of a needle to find Richarlison, but the Arsenal defence do well to intercept the pass.

It has been a rather scrappy opening, with neither side able to keep a hold of possession comfortably.

A win for either side would take them into the top four this evening which should make for an enthralling game of football, we hope.

Neil Swarbrick gets the game underway, with Watford taking kick-off. Arsenal, playing in their blue away strip, are still searching for their first goal on their travels.

Watford may have made an impressive start to the season under new boss Marco Silva, but they have yet to taste victory on home soil, with Manchester City running out 6-0 winners last time out at Vicarage Road.

On the other hand, Arsenal, who are unbeaten in seven games in all competitions and haven't conceded since August, are still winless on the road.

The hosts make three changes from the side that drew 2-2 at West Bromwich Albion last time out with Britos, Pereyra and Gray coming in for Capoue, Carrillo and Deeney.

The Gunners are without Alexis Sanchez who is rested after his international duty involvement.

Danny Welbeck is passed fit after a groin problem, but Mesut Ozil has to settle for a place on the bench after a recent knee injury while Shkodran Mustafi misses out entirely.

Per Mertesacker makes his first Premier League start in 532 days. No pressure...
