Charlie Austin nets on his debut, as Southampton record their first back-to-back victory over Manchester United since 1968-69. Ronald Koeman gets his tactics spot on again for the second successive season, but United players are met with a chorus of boos at the final whistle.

Januzaj has a shot across goal at the far post from McNair's cross to the far post, that just angles past Forster's goal.

Charlie Austin netted 18 goals in the Premier League for QPR last season - but this goal may be the most important he has ever scored in the Premier League.

United fans are now chanting Gary Neville's name - United haven't forced a save from Saints' goalkeeper Fraser Forster in the 92 minutes so far.

Old Trafford seems to be half-full - there has been an exodus from the expensive seats. A frustrated Rooney concedes a foul by barging into van Dijk.

Many United fans are heading for the exits - but maybe Adnan Januzaj can make a difference - he is coming on for Borthwick-Jackson.

Boos from the home fans as United again keep the ball and go back rather than try to go forward. A little mouse runs across the pitch and is caught on screen by the TV cameras - well, that has increased the excitement level at Old Trafford.

Long breaks and tries to find Mane from the right channel, but a cluster of red shirts work hard to get back and the chance is lost.

Southampton win a corner down the left off Lingard. Ward-Prowse's corner doesn't beat first man Blind, however, then Rooney volleys clear the second cross from Ward-Prowse.

McNair overhits a pass down the right channel to Lingard, but he gets warm applause from the Stretford End for his ambition. McNair has looked good since coming on.
