WIDE! The corner causes havoc in the home penalty area as Toure fails to get rid of the ball when presented with the opportunity, the ball falls to Shawcross at the back post but he can't guide the effort on target from 10 yards.

SAVE! Stoke win a free-kick from around 25 yards, Whelan goes for goal and forces Hart to tip the ball over the bar. The England goalkeeper seemed to be anticipating a cross and not the shot. Corner.

FIVE MINUTES TO KICK-OFF! The Potters are looking to complete a league double over City for the first time since the 1980-81 season and with Manchester City facing one of the biggest games of their history when they take on Real Madrid in just three days time, perhaps there has never been a better time to play them.

Stoke City
Stoke have only won one of their last six league matches but Mark Hughes' side is still battling to claim a top 10 finish. "We've sat down and talked about what we need to do better," the boss said. "My feeling is that we'll be fine and get back to what we need to do to win Premier League games. It may not be enough if Manchester City perform, but I'm looking for a better performance in terms of executing a game plan - which we haven't done well enough in the last two games."

Manchester City can move to third with a home win this afternoon, leapfrogging Arsenal in the process. Here's what Manuel Pellegrini said in the build-up: "It's very important that we're in the Champions League semi-finals but that doesn't mean we're not worried about the Premier League. The best way to prepare for Tuesday is to beat Stoke, to score goals, keep a clean sheet and that will help us prepare."
