The final whistle goes to seal a 3-1 Man City win. The Saints can chalk this one off as a lesson learned, while for City it is a welcome return to winning ways at the end of a tricky week.

Toure rolls away from Davis and falls to the floor, winning a free-kick in a dangerous position.

It's all or nothing for Southampton, who have been much better in the second half. They are playing almost four up top now, with only Wanyama sitting deep in midfield.

Southampton make a change of their own, replacing Ward-Prowse with Juanmi.

David Silva makes a welcome return from injury, replacing Sterling.

When they play like this City are a brilliant team. But they always give chances away, even with three in midfield, and a more clinical side than Southampton would have punished them today.

That goal was City at their silky best. Sterling cut inside from the left and threaded a pass into Bony, who back-heeled the ball to De Bruyne, who floated a gorgeous pass into Kolarov, who finished with a satisfyingly thumped finish. Glorious football.
