Welcome to West Brom versus Southampton at The Hawthorns. At the end of 2014 most people would have predicted an away win in this fixture but with the Baggies' predictable bounce under Tony Pulis and Southampton's small squad looking weary, it now seems a very even contest. A win for West Brom could send them seven points clear of the relegation zone, while Southampton can reclaim a place in the top four with a win.

The customary applause from West Brom fans for Jeff Astle in the ninth minute.

Ideye threatens a second for the home side after Berahino slides the ball to him on the left-hand side of the area. Yoshida gets across well to block as the Nigerian strikes towards goal and Southampton get the danger clear.
7'
Yoshida cuts inside and has a shot from 30 yards which goes well over the bar. The away side have dominated the ball since conceding.
6'
Forster has to be alert to claim a cross from Berahino, with Gardner looming behind him.
5'
First chance for Southampton as Mane gets across his marker to the near post and is picked out by Bertand from the left-hand byline. The Senegalese forward can't get a full connection on the ball and his effort goes wide of the near post.

Southampton won't be happy with their defending, there, having moved to three at the back for this game. Dawson dominated the Saints defenders in the air and Berahino finished in style.

GOAL! West Brom 1-0 Southampton. What a start to this game and what a finish from Berahino, who shashes in a volley from 15 yards after picking up Dawson's knockdown after a pumped ball into the box from the halfway line. Forster was left with no chance.

The players are out on The Hawthorns pitch, which looks excellent as usual.

Ronald Koeman has switched his side to a back three for the game today. Will the Dutchman have more joy with the switch in styles than his compatriot Louis Van Gaal has had at Manchester United.

There are plenty of reasons to believe this will be a tight contest, with Southampton conceding a league-best 19 goals and West Brom keeping four clean sheets in six Premier League games under Pulis. Having said that, Sadio Mane's record of four goals in his last five Premier League starts will be a cause for optimism for the visitors, while West Brom scored eight times in their three matches before the stalemate in Sunderland.

Southampton have won 61.1% of their Premier League matches with Morgan Schneiderlin in the team. That's an incredible record for the Frenchman.

In contrast to West Brom's settled side, Southampton manager Ronald Koeman shuffles his pack with Florin Gardos, Ryan Betrand, Morgan Schneiderlin, Dusan Tadic and Saido Mane coming back into the starting linup for Filip Djuricic, Matt Targett, James Ward-Prowse, Steven Davis and Eljero Elia.

Tony Pulis sticks with the same side that held Sunderland to a 0-0 draw at The Stadium of Light last weekend. The Baggies looked very well organised in that game which wasn't great, or even average, as a spectacle but was very useful in getting them closer to safety at the end of the season. West Brom have looked much better going forward in their home games recently, though, and they will hope the attacking partnership of Ideye and Berahino will continue to bear fruit.
