Rooney picks up the ball on the left, he feeds Jones, who moves into space before finding Januzaj. The Belgian skips into the area, Noble shoves him but no penalty says Mike Jones. He definitely put his arm into the United man, but Januzaj - as he tends to do - went down easily.

United back in control of the ball with Rooney operating deep. Januzaj goes on a run now but he is dispossessed and West Ham clear.

United stand off for a spell as they seek to conserve energy, having expended plenty with their high-intensity, pressing game.

Rooney with the corner, Evans meets it but Tomkins gets the final touch and United have a throw on the right.

Januzaj with a fierce left-foot drive from 30 yards, deflected and wide for a corner.

Maiga with another foul, on Jones this time, and United have a free-kick which is taken short as they seek to dominate possession.

United knocking it about with greater confidence now as they look to impress the home fans.

Adrian could have done better, on second viewing. The ball seemed to fizz under him. Fine move though.

GOAL UNITED! Fantastic goal by Danny Welbeck after exchanging passes with Rooney, starting it off with a backheel and finishing it with a wicked low drive inside the far post.

Valencia on the right digs out a swerving ball but there's too much height on it so, while the shape was good, the delivery is ultimately a poor one.

McCartney with a timely interception and backpass which Adrian confidently meets with a strong kick.

Maiga fouls Evans, not for the first time. Evans complains that Maiga was offside anyway but that no-one picked it up.

Tomkins with a terrible pass straight to Rooney but the United man hits the through-ball first time and gets it all wrong. Had time to take that on.

Taylor with a dangerous cross aimed at the far post but McCartney checks his run and it sails behind. That could have been more productive for West Ham.

Good stop by Adrian again as a Valencia cross-shot is deflected inside the right-hand post. Corner.

United fans yelp for a penalty as Januzaj goes down under pressure from Collins, who fairly gets it clear. Januzaj does then win a free-kick off Noble though.

Noble swings a fine pass to Maiga but Januzaj tracks back to intercept and get the ball back to De Gea.

Rooney tries an ambitious crossfield pass to Rafael but it sails out of play. West Ham give it away though and Welbeck is in but he plays it straight to Collins instead of the unmarked Rooney!
