Real Madrid have denied making contact with Kylian Mbappe, the Paris Saint-Germain forward, over a potential move when his contract in the French capital expires next summer. Mbappe's preferred destination is thought to be Madrid, despite interest from all over the world. Mbappe was the subject of a world-record £259m bid from Saudi side Al-Hilal in the summer.

Real Madrid have rubbished rumours that they have struck an agreement with Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe that would see the Frenchman join the La Liga outfit.
Mbappe has long been a target admired by those in power at Madrid, in particular club president Florentino Perez, but in an official statement Madrid have dismissed the rumours that Mbappe is set to move to the Spanish capital.
The statement, published on the club's official website and social media accounts, read: "In view of the information recently published by various media outlets regarding alleged negotiations between the player Kylian Mbappe and our club, Real Madrid C.F. would like to state that this information is categorically false and that no such negotiations have taken place with any player belonging to PSG."
Mbappe's contract at PSG expires in 2024, and with one of the world's best players available on a free next summer, increasing interest in the 24-year-old is understandable.
Mbappe, who handed in a transfer request last summer, was exiled to the reserves by new manager Luis Enrique earlier in the season, and the Ligue 1 champions accepted a world-record £259m bid from Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal back in July, which would have seen Mbappe reunite with his former team-mate Neymar, who himself made the move to the Middle East.
Despite there being significant interest from all over the world in Mbappe's services, it is widely thought that the player's preferred destination is Madrid, and PSG still believe that there is a secret agreement between Real and Mbappe that will see the Frenchman don the famous white next season.
Mbappe, since being reintegrated into the PSG first-team squad, has scored 10 goals in 10 Ligue 1 appearances, and two in three Champions League games.
Paris sit atop the French league, two points clear of Nice in second.
