PSG have announced that Neymar is set to undergo ankle surgery that will see him miss the remainder of the 2022/23 season. Neymar, 31, has not played since suffering an ankle injury during PSG’s clash with Lille in February. PSG have said he will be out for "three to four months" before he can resume team training. He is under contract with PSG until 2025.

Neymar is set to miss the rest of the season after being ruled out for up to four months due to injury by PSG.
He has not played since and will now undergo likely season-ending surgery in Doha.
A statement from PSG said: “Neymar has had several episodes of right ankle instability in recent years.
“Following his last sprain contracted on February 20, the medical staff of Paris Saint-Germain recommended a ligament repair operation, in order to avoid a major risk of recurrence. All of the experts consulted confirmed this need.
“This surgery will be performed in the coming days at ASPETAR Hospital in Doha.
“A delay of three to four months is expected before his return to collective training.”
PSG’s next game is the second leg of their Champions League last-16 tie against Bayern Munich on Wednesday.
The Champions League final takes place on June 10 while the Ligue 1 season finishes on June 4.
Neymar joined PSG from Barcelona in 2017 and has scored 118 goals for the club in 173 matches.
He has suffered from foot issues in the past, missing parts of the 2017/18 and 2018/19 seasons due to injury, as well as two games at the 2022 World Cup due to ankle ligament damage.
