That was a sore one for Navarro. The Alaves defender stooped to attempt a header. However, Suarez got there first with his toe and then stuck his studs into the head of Navarro. Ouch.

Alaves counter attack! That was a real opportunity for the home side with Barcelona caught high up the pitch. But the cross from the right side was a poor one and the chance disappears.

Straight into the wall! With Messi not on the pitch, Suarez commands the freekick 20 yards out. But the Barcelona striker puts his poor effort right into the middle of the Alaves wall.

Messi has been sent to go warm up by Valverde at the start of this second half. How long will we have to wait to see the Argentinean enter the fray for Barcelona? His team needs him.

Alaves have been forced into a change. Rolan sustained a hamstring injury right at the end of the first half.

Barcelona need to step things up in this second half. They started the match well, but allowed their level to drop and that saw Alaves grow into the match late on in the first half.

Valverde needs to get his players into the dressing room at half time because this game is getting away from Barcelona. As things stand right now, Alaves are the team pushing for an opener.

Pique is receiving treatment! That looked like a sore one for the Barcelona centre back. It was accidental, but Jony looked to step on his face. He should be fine to continue, though.

Ter Stegen collects! The Barcelona goalkeeper needed to be alert there. Ely got the flick on from a long throw into the box, but Ter Stegen got there ahead of Baston to claim the ball.
