Bale has probably been the standout performer for Real Madrid so far. The Welshman is trying to impress Zidane ahead of the second leg against Bayern Munich. So far, so good.

So the confusion at the end of the first half has subsided and the final outcome is that the scoreline is 2-0 to the home side. The referee overruled the offside call of his linesman.

The second half is under way at the Santiago Bernabeu! Real Madrid have a 2-0 lead over Leganes.

HALF TIME: Real Madrid 2-0 Leganes. The away players are surrounding the referee as they walk down the tunnel for the break. Whatever the confusion, Real Madrid are two goals to the good.

The referee has started the play again after the finish from close range from Mayoral, but after some discussion the goal is given! That was very, very strange.

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO... NO! Mayoral believes that he has scored for Real Madrid, flicking home a cross. The referee has restarted play, though, despite the striker's celebrations.

SCOOPED OVER! Ceballos will be disappointed that he wasn't able to find the target from the edge of the box. The midfielder scooped his shot well over Cuellar's goal. Poor.

Casilla tries a long kick out from his hands and plays the ball straight to Leganes. For all the criticism he has faced in recent weeks, that's the difference between Casilla and Navas.

Leganes have caused problems with their crossing into the Real Madrid box. Neither Vallejo nor Casemiro are especially strong from set pieces. That's something for the visitors to exploit.

Benzema will hope to make more of an impression in the second half of this match. Many expect the French striker to leave Real Madrid at the end of the season. Time is running out.

Vallejo is also starting at centre back fo Real Madrid this evening. The youngster had a difficult game against Juventus a couple weeks ago and so this is a shot at some redemption.

Bale has probably been the best player in the pitch in this first half so far. The Welshman is the focal point of Real Madrid's attack. He always plays better when Ronaldo isn't around.

Leganes have really warmed to the task in the past 15 minutes or so. Real Madrid look a little lost at the back and they have lost some of the intensity to their play that was there early on.

CLIPPED THE TOP OF THE BAR! Amrabat comes close again for Leganes. This time he takes aim with a half volley from 20 yards out and clips the top of the bar with his strike.

CEBALLOS SHOT ON GOAL! The Real Madrid midfielder probably should have done better with that. Bale opened up the pitch with his pace and played it to Ceballos, but his shot was straight at the keeper.
