What did you make of the first half? Could Alcacer nail down that position on the right side of the attacking frontline? Can Sevilla mount a fightback? Tweet me!

HALF TIME: Barcelona 1-0 Sevilla. Alcacer's goal is the difference between the sides at the interval, but the Catalans have been far superior. An impressive first half display from Barca.

ALMOST! That was almost the perfect pass from Messi to Alcacer. It was made through the eye of a needle, but Alcacer just couldn't gather it. Had he done so, it would have surely been a goal.

It's just not happening for Suarez at the moment. The former Liverpool striker is short of the pace and can't find his finishing touch. It was believed it might have been dropped for this game.

N'Zonzi is the key to this game for Sevilla. If he can get a grip of things in the centre of the pitch, the away side will stand a chance. Of course, N'Zonzi was linked to Barca last season.

There have been some moments of encouragement from Sevilla in the last 15 minutes or so. They seem to be making some progress down the right wing, where Alba is having a tough time of it.
39'
All of a sudden, Barcelona have taken it upon themselves to slow the tempo of the game down. They are still in control of the ball, but they might be seeing this out before the break.

The omens aren't good for Sevilla. Barcelona haven't lost in 39 games when they took the lead first. It's even worse if they get to half time leading. It's 100 games since they lost having been ahead at the break.

Semedo is playing in the right back role for Barcelona this evening. He has shown glimpses of what he can do since signing in the summer, but has yet to really nail down his place.
35'
Of course, this was expected to be one of the toughest tests Barcelona would face this season, although Sevilla haven't been so strong on the road over the early part of the campaign.
34'
The pace and tempo of Barcelona's play this evening has been astonishing. Sevilla have had no choice but to sit deep and absorb as much of it as possible. The hosts are everywhere.

This has been better from Sevila in the last few minutes, but that's only because they have managed to venture into the opposition half once or twice. It was a low bar.
31'
Suarez goes down after a challenge by Escudero, but that was a clean challenge by the Sevilla player. Suarez wasn't caught in any way. That was a clear attempt to con the referee.

The potential is there for Sevilla to catch out Barcelona on the counter attack, but they have so far lacked the quality to cause the Catalans problems. Barca need to be careful.
28'
ACROSS THE FACE OF GOAL! Rakitic does really well to play a ball right across the face of goal on the volley, but Alcacer didn't make contact as he attempted to backheel it goalwards.

Iniesta has been excellent so far this evening. Part of that is down to the fact Sevilla are giving him so much space around the edge of the box. He is being given so much freedom.
