It should be noted that while Girona might be a tiny club, they aren't a poor quality team. They are currently sitting in eighth place in their first season as a La Liga side. Impressive.

ALBA WAS IN! Messi plays a wonderful pass over the top of the Girona backline, looking for the late run of Alba into the box. But the left back's touch lets him down at the end of it.

Dembele didn't make the most of that opportunity. The young Frenchman was played into the channel by Messi, but the ball got caught underneath his feet and the chance was gone.

Barcelona need to take a grip of this game in the middle of the pitch. This has been a very open 10 minutes. That probably suits Girona more than it does the hosts.

What a start to this match at the Camp Nou. Both sides look like they could score every time they come forward. That could be good news for the neutrals, not so much for the goalkeepers.

SLASHED OVER THE BAR! Lozano is played in behind the Barcelona defence, with Pique and Umtiti caught on their heels. But he lashes his effort well over the bar. He had so much time and space.

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Barcelona 1 (5 mins - Luis Suarez) Girona 1. The league leaders reply immediately! Suarez got in behind the Girona backline, with Messi threading through the pass. The Barcelona striker slides a finish underneath the goalkeeper. Back on level terms.

That was NOT in the script! Girona have taken an early lead in this Catalan derby. Barcelona had actually started the match well, but it's the away side that made the most of their loose play.

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Barcelona 0 Girona 1 (3 mins - Portu). Wow! Girona have taken the lead at the Camp Nou! Slack play from Umtiti gifts the away side the ball and Portu does really well to get a shot across goal and in off the inside of the far post. What a start!

This is the first time Girona have visited the Camp Nou for an official match. They are a tiny club from Catalonia, but they are more than holding their own in La Liga this season.

Rapid start by Barcelona sees Semedo race into space down the right wing, but he couldn't pick out a teammate with his pull back into the box. That bodes well for the hosts.
