Now it's Isco who tries his luck from long range. The playmaker drove forward from the centre of the pitch to the edge of the penalty area, but he cut across his effort and it flashes wide.

NACHO SHOT BLOCKED! Juanfran dallied on the ball as he tried to control a cross on his chest inside his own box, Nacho nipped in but his shot on goal was blocked. Just as well.

However, James remains one of the most productive players in the Real Madrid squad. In fact, the Colombian has made more assists than any other Real Madrid player this season.

This is a big opportunity for James. He has struggled for first team action this season, but this is a chance for the Colombian to show that he is still one of the very best.

Real Madrid have started the better of the two teams, but Deportivo La Coruna are beginning to grow into the contest and are now knocking the ball around to get a feel of it.

Pepe is playing alongside Ramos at the heart of the Real Madrid defence tonight. The Portuguese centre back has fallen behind Varane in the pecking order this season.

Kroos takes on the shot from the best part of 25 yards after good play from Asensio, but Sidnei turns his back on the effort and makes the block. He needed to get in the way.

Deportivo shouldn't be underestimated. They come into this game on the back of an impressiv 5-1 win over in-form Real Sociedad last week. They have the quality to harm teams.

Also significant for Real Madrid is that Casemiro has come back into the starting lineup. He was out for 11 weeks with a fractured leg. He was deemed not fit enough to start the Clasico last week.

It's back to where it all started for Zidane tonight. His first game in charge of Real Madrid was a home match against Deportivo La Coruna. They won 5-0 on that occasion.

Asensio looks lively early on. He dribbles past a couple of Deportivo defenders and looks to make the splitting pass to Morata, but striker had strayed offside waiting for the pass.

So Zidane has opted for a different formation this evening. It looks like Morata will be playing up front, with Asensio on the right, James on the left and Isco through the middle.

Zidane has made a number of changes to his team for this one, resting both Ronaldo and Benzema. The attacking burden falls on Morata, supported by Isco and James.
