While the centre forward position is still Ronaldo's preferred role, he has actually been better out on the wings this season. But due to injuries Zidane hasn't been able to play him there.

Ronaldo is playing as the centre forward this evening, with Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale both still struggling through injury. The Portuguese has a point to prove in this match.

James Rodriguez has been handed another starting spot for Real Madrid tonight, but he still doesn't look like he has returned to match sharpness. There's no pace or tempo to his play.

Indeed, Rossi is the one looking to test Navas in the Real Madrid goal. The Italian striker has the kind of quality that Levante were lacking in attack in the first half of the season.

Rossi has given Levante more of a cutting edge in the final third. Signing on loan from Fiorentina in the January window, he could be the man to save the Valencia club from the drop.

Casemiro will want to have a good game this evening. He was seen as the epitome of everything that was wrong with Rafa Benitez, so this is a chance to do a job for the new manager.

Ronaldo is still in the team after his outburst following the defeat in the Madrid derby. Zidane says that the situation has been resolved, though. Whether it has or not...

Levante find themselves bottom of the Spanish Liga table and have a fight on their hands to avoid the drop down to the second tier. But they always seem to avoid it, year on year.

Much of the focus for the rest of this season will now be placed on the Champions League, where Real Madrid have kept some of their best form. They still have a chance there.

It could be the case that Zidane has already turned his head to next season domestically. After Saturday's defeat to Atletico Madrid, Real Madrid now trail Barca by 12 points.

Mayoral was the star of the Real Madrid youth team, so it's perhaps not to much of a surprise to see him play. Zidane is looking to shape up things between now and the end of the season.

This is an interesting team selection from Zinedine Zidane tonight. He has handed places to Casemiro, Lucas Vazquez and Borja Moyoral for this match against Levante.
