It has been a testing week for Real Madrid, but Zidane's side have restored some pride with that result. They certainly weren't at their best tonight, but Los Blancos were in control for much of the contest.

It was interesting when that goal went in from Isco that hardly anyone on the Real Madrid side of things celebrated. Does this match even matter to them? Hard to tell.

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Levante 1 Real Madrid 3 (92 mins - Isco). And that should be that for the away side. Ronaldo cuts the ball back from the byline and Isco is on hand to finish with a crisp finish into the net from 15 yards.

Good play from Ronaldo. His run forced the Levante backline into running towards their own goal, but he couldn't find the angle on his effort and Marino makes the simple save.

Four minutes of stoppage time to be played at the end of the second half.

That was a tame shot from Jese. Ronaldo did really well to take the ball down in the penalty area and set it up for his teammate, but the effort from the winger was really weak.

Real Madrid sub: Borja Mayoral OFF, Jese Rodriguez ON.

Ronaldo is unhappy at some of the rough treatment he is receiving from the Levante players. He wins the freekick this time, but he reminds the referee of the decisions he didn't get.

NAVAS MAKES A BIG SAVE! Ruben strikes at goal from about 20 yards out, but the Real Madrid goalkeeper reads the flight of the effort and is at full stretch to make the save.

Yet another below par performance by James. He just doesn't look match fit at the moment. There were glimpses of what he can do, but he's still way short of his best.

YELLOW CARD: Ruben Garcia (Levante)

Can Levante create one clear-cut opportunity to find an equaliser? Deyverson has been lively all the way through the match but you could never claim that he has looked dangerous.

Real Madrid have this game under control in the sense that the home side aren't causing them much of a problem, but they have been fairly anaemic in attack themselves.

It should also be noted that Verza's introduction as a sub should also give Levante more of a creative edge through midfield, just like Kovacic should do for Real Madrid.

HOW CLOSE WAS THAT? Ronaldo takes the shot first-time about 16 yards out, and has Marino beaten all ends up. But the ball flashes about an inch wide of the post. That looked in all the way.

That's actually a positive change by Real Madrid. It might have been prompted by injury, but Kovacic is a much more creative player than Casemiro. That could help their strikers.

Might this be another injury problem for Real Madrid. Casemiro is hobbling and it looks like the Brazilian midfielder will be coming off. It looks like Kovacic will be coming on for the visitors.
