Koke tries to play a ball into Torres, who has made a run in behind the Elche defensive line, but the weight of the pass from the midfielder is too strong and Tyton can come off his line to claim.

This has been a strange game so far. No team is taking a grip of the contest, with both sides keen to play on the counter attack. Atletico Madrid need to take a grip of the centre of midfield.

Siqueira is another Atletico Madrid player with a point to prove tonight. Gamez was favoured at left-back, but the Brazilian will be aiming to show why he should have started with his performance today.

Even with Griezmann taken off as a sub, you might have expected Torres to come on in his place. But it was Jimenez who came on, and did very little to show why. Strange decision from Simeone.

By taking Griezmann off against Real Madrid Simeone left his side with no outlet. It was always as if he accepted that they were playing for extra-time and maybe even penalties. Wrong tone to set.

Simeone has come in for some criticism from the Spanish press after his decision to withdraw Griezmann against Real Madrid during the week. It was a strange call, to be honest.

Koke swings an excellent corner kik delivery into the opposition penalty area, with Godin climbing higher than anyone else at the back post. But the centre-back can't quite make the connection.

For Atletico Madrid this season is now about securing third place in La Liga - and of course ensuring they play in the Champions League next season. Their campaign has fizzled out a bit.

Great reflex save from Tyton! Siquiera did really well to get to the byline and square a cross into the box. It collected a deflection off the head of a defender at the near post, but the keeper made the stop.

Nicely worked set piece from Atletico Madrid. Gabi teases a freekick into the Elche penalty area but Tyton comes off his line to make the punch, when he probably could have caught the ball.

Of course, Simeone isn't actually on the touchline for this match. The Argentine was sent to the stands last week and so will watch this game from the directors' box. He looks restless there.
