Tempers fray between the two sides as the full time whistle blows. This result has blown the title race wide open, with Real Madrid right back in the thick of things. Barcelona have been let off the hook as well! What a performance by Levante.

Pinto has the chance to add the gloss to the scoreline, but he puts his shot just past the post with Godin and Miranda struggling to get back and make the challenge.

For maybe the first time this season Atletico have looked short of ideas and, dare I say it, tired. Is their Champions League semi-final against Chelsea during the week to blame for that?

Atletico have two tough fixtures to end the league season on. They have Malaga next week before ending away to Barcelona at the Camp Nou. What a game that could be!

Simeone is still encouraging his team and asking the fans to get behind his players. You get the feeling that it's a little too late for them now, but should they find a late they'll at least put some doubt into Levante.

Now Tiago comes close! The ball falls to the former Chelsea midfielder 10 yards out, but he skews his effort past the post. They're creating chances but haven't been able to take them.

Atletico are starting to get a little desperate here. Crosses are being slung into the box and long balls being punted forward, but Levante are dealing with it all.

Navas has been outstanding for Levante. Even though this will go down as a textbook performance against Atletico from the outfield players, it's the keeper who has really stood out.

So as things stand Atletico Madrid would be three points clear of Barcelona and six clear of Real Madrid. However, Real have two games in hand and can draw level if they win those. But Atletico would still lead on the basis of head to head.

Atletico Madrid really need to be finding a goal around about now. They've given themselves a mountain to climb, but if they can just find the net now they would hav 10 minutes to pile on the pressure.

Adrian hits the woodwork! Atletico Madrid break on the counter attack, with Adrian played through on goal, but his shot across the goal hits the post. Nothing is going right for Simeone's side.

YELLOW CARD: Diego Godin (Atletico Madrid)

Of course, even with this result Atletico Madrid are still in control of the title race. It just means that tonight's game between Valencia and Real Madrid takes on massive importance.

Things are starting to get heated now. Turan, Costa, Pinto and Navas are in each other's faces and the referee is letting them just play things out. The tension is starting to get to Simeone's side.

How big could that goal prove to be in the context of the title race? Can Atletico find a lifeline? They need to score as soon as they can and pile on the pressure for the final 20 minutes.
