TOTTENHAM FACE A BIG NIGHT IN GERMANY AFTER FIRST-LEG DRAW
Pedro Porro’s audacious finish rescued a 1-1 draw for Tottenham in the first leg of their UEFA Europa League quarter-final at home to Eintracht Frankfurt.
The full-back flicked an improvised effort beyond Kaua Santos on 26 minutes after excellent work on the left from Dominic Solanke and James Maddison.
The Bundesliga outfit had opened the scoring 20 minutes earlier when Hugo Ekitike drove in from the left and curved a superb 20-yard strike into the far corner to snare his 20th goal of the season across all competitions.
Tottenham pushed for a second following the interval, but Lucas Bergvall and Rodrigo Bentancur both hit the crossbar while Micky van de Ven saw a last-gasp header clawed away by the magnificent Santos.
Spurs will now switch focus to a Premier League trip to Wolves on Sunday before the second leg in Germany next Thursday night.
Frankfurt have a double-header on home turf with a Bundesliga clash with Heidenheim on the agenda prior to the visit of Ange Postecoglou’s Lilywhites.

ANGE POSTECOGLOU CHATS TO TNT SPORTS FOLLOWING FIRST-LEG DRAW
Some of the key lines from the Spurs boss:
"I can’t ask anymore of the lads. It’s disappointing to concede the way we did.
"After that, we were well in control of the game. We didn’t create much in the first half, but we worked them hard and it could have seen it bear fruit in the second half..."
He added: "I thought the performance was first rate."
He continued: "On any other night we go away with a comfortable victory.
"If we repeat that performance (in Germany), I definitely think we give ourselves a chance (of reaching the last four)."

THE TNT SPORTS EXPERTS REACT TO TOTTENHAM'S DRAW WITH FRANKFURT
GLENN HODDLE: "It’s disappointing because they [Spurs] played so well in the second half. They penned Frankfurt in, hit the bar and the goalkeeper Santos has had an absolute stormer. He’s made some wonderful saves.
"It’s going to be a tough task to go over to Frankfurt now."
OWEN HARGREAVES: "You see everyone [for Frankfurt] going over to the goalkeeper Santos and saying well done.
"A brilliant goal from Ekitike, who showed why everybody is after him.
"To be fair, Frankfurt were quite passive after that. Tottenham dominated the ball and probably should have scored more.
"It sets it up for a fascinating second leg."

A HUGE NIGHT IN GERMANY LIES AHEAD FOR ANGE AND CO
The Tottenham boss has come under heavy criticism this season with an unprecedented number of injuries not enough to explain The Lilywhites’ poor position in the Premier League for many observers.
It has felt like Europa League or bust for the Aussie, and it’ll all come down to the second leg in Frankfurt now.
Tottenham will still fancy their chances with a now mostly fit squad but will need to produce one of their best displays of the campaign to keep alive their hopes of reaching the last four.
Notably, Bodo/Glimt shocked Lazio 2-0 in the first leg of their last-eight clash, with the winner of that tie awaiting Spurs or Frankfurt next.
