ONANA COSTS MAN UTD VICTORY IN THRILLING DRAW
Two terrible errors from Andre Onana, the second in the final minute of injury-time, handed Lyon two goals as Manchester United played fairly well in earning a 2-2 draw in their UEFA Europa League quarter-final first leg.
Despite a hot atmosphere inside the ground, United were comfortable in the early stages. But then, on 25 minutes, Onana opted not to come for Thiago Almada's free-kick, dived when it was almost past him, and could only help it into the net.
Just before the break, though, United were level, a corner cleared and Manuel Ugarte hooking a shot that was headed wide, until Leny Yoro leapt and twisted to head home his first goal for the club.
United improved in the second half and, with two minutes to go, looked to have seized a crucial win, Joshua Zirkzee heading home powerfully after being found by Bruno Fernandes' cross.
But with the ref just about to blow for time, Onana couldn't send Corentin Tolisso's shot away from goal, and Rayan Cherki flipped a lovely equaliser over his desperate dive.

ON THE PLUS SIDE
United will feel they're a better side than Lyon, and would probably have taken 2-2 at kick-off. If they can stop giving goals away, a big if, they should progress next week.
22:04
YOU HAVE TO FEEL FOR ONANA
He seems a nice lad and playing in net for United is hard. But he makes so many errors that you just can't excuse, and has been at it since he joined.

THE UNITED PLAYERS LOOK PEAKY
Lyon didn't look likely to score – United looked more likely to find a third goal - but again, their goalkeeper wasn't there when they needed him. In fairness, Tolisso made decent connection, but shovelling saves back into play is a feature not a bug. I ca't see any way he's allowed to continue as first-choice next season.

FULL TIME: LYON 2-2 MANCHESTER UNITED
That goal was more or less the final kick of the game. United will be sick and rightly so, but they played fairly well tonight and look more than capable of completing the job at Old Trafford next week.
GOAL! LYON 2-2 MANCHESTER UNITED (CHERKI)
He has done it again! Andre Onana has done it again! First, though, Dorgu is slow to gert out to a shot from Makautadze that he hopes will go out for a goalkick, Maitland-Niles keeps it in, and when Alamada finds Lacazette, his cunning back-flick feeds Tolisso, who shoots low and hard, the keeper fumbles, and Cherki has the presence of mind to clip a delicious finish over the him from right up close in his coupon! Mayham, and yet another dreadful night for Onana.

UNITED PUSH FOR A THIRD
First, Bruno looks to play a one-two off Zirkzee, then Mainoo is booked for pulling back Lacazette, a necessary foul to stop a counter.
90+2'
INOMA BURROWS INTO THE BOX
United couldn't snaffle another could they? Mainno can't manufacture a shooting lane, nor can Zirkzee, and when Bruno tries to hit the big man with an almost identical ball, this time Lyon clear and he visitors must make do with a corner ... which they quickly waste.
90'
WE'LL HAVE FIVE ADDITIONAL MINUTES
Thinking again about the goal, for a man of his build, Zirkzee does very little in the air, but that was a really good run and header. He's clearly been working on his game – and his body.

MILD CREDIT WHERE IT'S DUE
United have played competently tonight. They look a better side than Lyon and even without the advantage would have been confident of progressing.

GOAL! LYON 1-2 MANCHESTER UNITED (ZIRKZEE)
United have done it! A long ball from Lindelof Lois cleared but Mainoo stoops to win a crucial header, not just making the tackle but guiding to Bruno, who digs out a gorgeous flip and Zirkzee, running just off Mata, powers a header into the roof! An enormous goal for both player and club!

LYON HAVE BEEN UNIMPRESSIVE TONIGHT
They've not taken the game to United, and save five minutes after their goal, they've built no prssure.
85'

LYON WILL SURELY WANT A LEAD TO TAKE TO MANCHESTER
And here's Cherki looking for it, punching a low cut-back to Lacazette, somehow unmarked inside the box. He takes a touch, then swipes well over the top, under no pressure, and really ought to have done better there.
83'
TWO CHANGES FOR UNITED
Mainoo returns after injury, replacing Garnacho, while Lindelof is on for Maguire. Amorim changes centre-backs a lot in the closing stages of games, I've no idea why. Maguire has been solid too, and Lindelof is weak in the air.
82'
NICE FROM TOLISSO
Who finds Almada on the right, who feeds infield for Cherki ... who lamps over the top, near-post side.
82'
PRE-MATCH, IT WAS CHERKI ATTRACTING ALL THE ATTENTION
But in the event, Mikautadze has been by far Lyon's best attacker, a deft presence coming short and a threat in behind.
80'
NOW THIS IS A DECENT DELIVERY FROM BRUNO
And Casemiro gets a good look at it too, but can only nod wide of the near post. United fancy themselves another goal here, but could, of course, easily concede one.
79'

RIDICULOUS BEHAVIOUR FROM BRUNO
Running out of space, he's forced to rabona a ball out to Dorgu, whose cross is good but a fraction behind Garnacho, whose finish into the ground is swiped away by Perri. Corner to United.
77'
GOOD WORK FROM MOUNT
Who holds on to the ball under pressure. Tagliafico then slides in, making a decent challenge, and Mount shoves him. There's a mini-scuffle with no action, the United man is booked, and on we go with a free-kick to the visitors, awarded for an earlier offence.
