Arne Slot: 'I hope, hope, hope' Tottenham win UEFA Europa League as reward for Ange Postecoglou's attacking football

Ange Postecoglou has made a name for himself for his unwavering commitment to attacking football, despite his preferred tactics leaving his team sitting in 10th spot in the Premier League. On Sunday, Tottenham Hotspur face Liverpool and Reds manager Arne Slot praised the Australian for sticking to his guns. Slot hopes the team are rewarded for their approach by winning the UEFA Europa League.

Liverpool boss Arne Slot says that he hopes Ange Postecoglou "wins a trophy" at Tottenham Hotspur after his recent struggles.
Tottenham are 10th in the Premier League, after impressing last term in Postecoglou’s first season in charge.
The Londoners have continued to play Postecoglou’s preferred attacking football, with the Australian not willing to moderate his approach despite a downturn in results and an uptick in criticism.
Slot was rumoured to be in the frame to take over at Tottenham before Postecoglou’s arrival, but he stayed at Feyenoord ahead of switching to Anfield in the summer.
Liverpool face Tottenham on Sunday in the Premier League, and they also meet in the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup.
Ahead of the game this weekend, Slot said he hoped that Postecoglou would get his reward for playing so aggressively - though not in the Carabao Cup.
"It's great work that Ange is doing," Slot said on Friday. "I hope, hope, hope that he wins a trophy - not the League Cup, but I am completely a fan of his team for the Europa League.

"People talk about trophies, trophies, trophies and that is so important. For me, his brand of football is so much more important.
"If he can combine it with winning something that would be so good for football in general because then people can stop talking about 'is it too attacking?' How on earth can you play too much attacking football?
"I think it is a privilege to be a season ticket holder at Tottenham and to be a fan of them at the moment because they play such a great style."
The Dutchman praised Spurs for their willingness to stick to their original blueprint, noting it brought rewards in the form of a recent win at Manchester City.
"I really have to give them credit," Slot said. "They have always been a certain brand of football for me and a certain identity and Ange Postecoglou gives them that identity back completely.
"Every time, it is a joy to watch them. Once in a while results go against them, but I think they are one of the teams to beat Manchester City, like us."
