That was a comfortable win for the German hosts in the end. Celtic started well, but crumbled after scoring the opening goal. That result means that the home match against RB Leipzig in two weeks time takes on a whole new dimension for the Hoops. That is now a must win game!
FULL TIME: RB Leipzig 2-0 Celtic
Celtic have missed the presence of Brown in the centre of the midfield. Without the veteran in there they have looked short of leaders on the pitch. They need some character.
The opening goal completely changed the dynamic of the match. Celtic have shown themselves to be far too fragile in Europe this season, especially away from home.
Celtic now face a huge game at the weekend. They will take on Hearts for a place in the final of the Scottish League Cup. Lose that and some serious questions will be asked.

Five minutes of stoppage time to be played at the end of the match.

Late chance for Ntcham! RB Leipzig are sloppy on the ball, allowing the French midfielder to burst through on goal, but his shot is saved by the legs of Mvogo. Celtic needed that.
It was always going to be difficult for Celtic this evening, given the injuries they have at the moment, but the manner of the performance has been the most disappointing thing.
Kampl gets a standing ovation. He has arguably been the best player on the pitch.

RB Leipzig haven't looked so potent in the attacking third in this second half, but that's largely because they have been allowed to take their foot off the pedal. Coasting through.
Well struck! Well, at least that was an effort on goal from Celtic. They strung some passes together in midfield, with McGregor striking from distance. It flashes over the bar.
To be perfectly honest, it's almost as if Celtic have given up on this game. They have turned their focus to the weekend's Betfred Cup semi final against Hearts at Murrayfield.
Is there any way back for Celtic in this match? They simply aren't keeping hold of the ball and if they can't do that then there's no way that they can build some pressure.
Celtic aren't the only Scottish team in action in the Europa League this evening. Rangers are undefeated in the competition so far and they have Spartak Moscow at home.
